OOTP film review - so glad i haven't forgotten my HP love.

So, that Order of the Phoenix movie I promised myself I wouldn't spend money after that cringefest that was fourth movie (mind you, 2nd and 1st movies still the worst but that last scene in fourth movie? dead to me).

I'm glad I spent money on it after all.

In short? It was like a real movie. And? It was like a REAL book-to-film film.

getting more spoilerous so here i go. CAPSLOCK and incoherency because that's what OOTP is all about.. )

ilu.

i haven't made my OMFG OOTP ILU post yet cause i wanted to see it again to have more to say instead of just flailing and gibberish, but you basically just said it all.

Luna was SO AMAZING. i LOVE her in the book, and i was worried what she would be like in the movie, and OMFG THEY LOVE ME CAUSE SHE WAS PERFECT!!

(i too ship Harry/Luna in my heart, but because i know it shall never be just like my Harry/Hermione i wouldn't mind if Nevil got her!)

but yeah i hate Cho and i hate Ginny... i really wish Harry would end up with Luna or Hermione... but JK hates me so yeah.

and thank you, why will no one else agree with me that this one was WAY more like the book! i mean yes they left stuff out, yes stuff got rushed and changed, but COME ON! they even freaking left in Harry seeing Snape's memory of James torturing him! L.O.V.E!!!! that's one of my FAVORITE things from that book and they KEPT IT. yes it was different, but i was just glad it was there.

and Fred/George leaving was PERFECT! oh god i love them and they better keep their shop in the next movie.

and the Harry "no one likes me, i can fight blah blah" wank was SO MUCH BETTER IN THAT MOVIE! i HATED that part of the book (haha part yeah THE WHOLE BOOK) but they did make it bearable and understandable! it wasn't over the top and all in my face every five seconds like in book 5.

same with Serius, he bugged me in book five, he was just as bad as Harry cause he couldn't leave. but in the movie he was all mentorish and made me feel that he was all the family Harry had left and GOD. i wasn't that sad when he died in the book, but now i am. (though that death scene was kinda lame. i mean it's a lame way to die to begin with, but the quiet floating back... come on. -_-)

Rupert was quite good in this one. and i guess i'm the only one who has never minded Dan or Emma in their parts. (though in my defense i started with the movies and not the books, so i'm a bit askew from the rest of you book brats. :P)

i want to see it again so i can remember all the other things i wanted to say!

People are saying this wasn't according to the book? WTH. Given, I've not read OOTP as many times as I've read GOF (my fave!!) or HBP (because HBP has so much cute stuff, I just keep going back to it) because OOTP is ENORMOUS. But when I watched the movie, I thought it kept so well with the pace of the book and the events. They even had tiny cool stuff that they didn't HAVE to put it, like they could've totally ignored Neville and I thought they would, since that's been their style in the past, but they let the side characters shine as well and that ROCKED. And I love that they began with the Big D-feat-Harry-P-party-with-Dementors scene and it looked so gritty and almost realistic and I just adored it.

Yeah, Harry angst was so over-the-top in the book. Maybe it was the fact it was expressed, you know, IN CAPS, but I felt his angst so much better here. And there was less of it, maybe. And DanRad could almost like, ACT. WTH. Looks like standing naked on theater stage did him GOOD. Go DanRad!!!

The only thing that bugged me about the Veil scene is that they didn't mention it was the Veil. I somehow needed that information in there somewhere.

I saw 2nd film before I read the books. But then I submerged myself in the books so much I started loathing the films. I realized they just failed to capture my favourite things about the books and some things that were essential they just sort of butchered. Especially Ron but y'know, other things, too.
