This isn't really anything but a post full of imeem-embedded songs that I friggin' love, that also happen to be Korean hiphop or somehow related to it.
To show that Korean hiphop pretty much owns.
Shim Tae Yoon's song off the Goong soundtrack was probably the first Korean hiphop/rap song I ever listened to. I was surprised at how much I genuinely enjoyed it. Nowadays I find STY's rapping sliiiightly irksome in certain some songs but this one still owns me. It's got a nice atmosphere.
However, the two groups that *really* got me into Korean hiphop were Big Bang and Epik High. Out of these groups, Big Bang is younger and way more commercial. Epik High is about street cred and getting political, while Big Bang is about the moves and the attitude.
And they both sound good.
Big Bang came first, I think it was this song;
I can't remember what I initially thought. It was catchy and groovy and I watched
the video and loved it despite cheese.
With Epik High, it all began with Fan.
This song actually took a damn long time for me to get into but I always find, the longer it takes for me to dig something, the more I dig it when I eventually do.
There's also a group, much like Big Bang in some ways, called 1TYM who I'm not fully into but they have one song I adore:
And if anything is love, it's Korean hiphop songs on Korean drama soundtracks...
I like this song way more than I should. :( But it has
HaHa-sshi so it's understandable. RET'S GO!
Actually I lied, my first Big Bang song was this;
I initially thought there was a girl in Big Bang, hah.
And now, time for the brightest most cracklicious insane fun Korean hiphop video I've ever seen; Big Bang's "Dirty Cash"

Oh money worship. XD
Time for another awesome Epik High song.
At one point I only had this and Fan on my iPod. Then I listened to this song...
...and bought Epik High's latest, 4th album immediately. And even though this and Fan are two of the best songs on it, I also love a lot of the others like Love Love Love, Broken Toys, 거미줄 and Nocturne (Tablo's word). You can imeem-search all of those for a listen, if you like.
Time for more Big Bang awesome..
Youtube search the video if you want to see more Big Bang moves. ;)
Now, the awesome thing about Korean hiphop is that everybody seems to be doing it. For example, Shinhwa, a "boyband" that's been around for almost a decade now, has three singers and three rappers. Their music, though often ballad-y and thus more "typical" boyband music, is heavily hiphop/r'n'b influenced, often in very cool ways (especially their latest material).
This song starts and ends with a rap by the group's leader Eric Mun, which is why I'm including it.
All of Shinhwa's 7th album is awesome, though. Here's another great recent-ish song from them.
And just to prove even the newer Korean boybands are doing the hiphop influence thing, here's a collaboration single by two of the biggest groups at the moment, Dong Bang Shin Ki and Super Junior. It's total pop, of course, but watch out for the rap portions. It's like rap is ingrained in all Korean pop music at the moment.
I don't think ever been a better rap rhyme than this song's beginning; If I'm shy / it's because of your blue eyes
Oh, Yoochun, I had no idea you felt that way. :P
And then there's the already legendary Korean r'n'b. Thanks to Stephen Colbert, everybody knows Rain. For that reason, have a 30-second clip of a Rain song featuring Tablo from Epik High.

Now that's hot.
