unradical fandom thoughts; small vs big.

I also have some select ISWAK thoughts but I'll post 'em under the Asian fandom friends filter because I know nobody else cares, probably. :)

so, we're both in this fandom.. )

If somebody watches Heroes and doesn't find Hiro awesome at all - hey such people could exist -

Nah... it can't happen ^^. Well... now that I think about HP and the thing you said about some people wanting Ron ... I can't say it :/, It could happen that some very rare mental people could find Hiro annoying.

But they clearly belong to St Mungo XD.

What you said is very true. The smaller the fandom is, the more people stick to canon. You will always have some fantasy, overall in the OTP's but things will go smoothly and we certainly won't see a "Ship war" like it happened in HP (though it was a fun time ^^).

Hiro-haters and Ron-haters.. Sigh, wish they didn't exist but sadly they do. :P

And yeah, small fandoms keep it real.

I know I shouldn't but I still despise some of the HP fandom because of the stupidity. You have every right to like what you want and wish for what you want. No problem about it. But the reasons o_O.

Ah well, it's part of the fandom policy. No matter what the fandom is about there's always going to be that :). Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's not.

Drama's fandom are relaxed probably because even if the drama is very known and big (take HYD for example), it's still too small to create issues.

Hahaha, yeah. Goong has some against-OTP shippers, but that's alright, too. There might be some disagreements over whether some drama was good, overrated or whatever but generally it's all good.

I thought about replying to this this morning but didn't want to keep spamming your journal! Then I was doing the dishes and trying to decide whether the issue was fandom size or fandom type (eg anime/drama etc) but I guess Supernatural knocked the 'fandom type' argument on the head!

I think, on the whole, this is why I feel more comfortable in (small) drama fandoms. Even with anime, I've always tended to focus on characters I like more than pairings and it's easier to take that approach within a drama fandom.

I'm a huge pairingwhore but also very character-focused in my likes. Like, I notice how my OTPs have one character I really love and another one I "only" really like. There's only a select few pairings where I love both characters absolutely equally - funny enough, these tend to be dramas.
