green wing special.
I'm 30 minutes in and really liking it so far. Laughing out loud LOADS, so it doesn't seem to be much different from one's usual Green Wing episode. Favourite bits so far:
- Guy's general insecurity about Caroline and omg, they are so my OTP as they're hilarious even or especially when you know it just won't lead to anything good. Loved the bit in the cafeteria where his insecurity is highlighted as he's forced to leave Caroline alone with Mac, "Don't look into his eyes" and then some major oppressive actions to make sure she doesn't. He *knows* the love is there and he *knows* he can't make it go away but that doesn't stop him from trying and GOD bless him for that, poor Guy!
- Boyce being shut down by the replacement!Statham. Awwww!
- "She's empty." "Aww, you really do miss her, don't you?" Guy & Martin, brotherly love YESSSS.
- The MOST inappropriate funeral EVER. Loved Guy's boner line and Martin's OMGWTF-worthy pantomime.
- I've been cracking up loads at Joanna and Alan. The supermarket stealing bit was lovely.
- Guy/Sue scene. LOVE.
Aaand now I've watched another 30 minutes of it. Thoughts, favourite bits etc:
- More Boyce awwwness. Theirloveissotrue fhgdkjfhgkjdhgkjgh REALLY.
- Bwahaha, gay guy hit on Statham.
- Guy and Mac were so heart-breakingly wonderful and funny in that bar scene. The line, "I wish I was dying, I'd be so much better at it than you." is SO Guy and jasgjdsgfjdhgf I loved how Mac was both crying and laughing and omg, those guys love each other, they really do. Sigh.
- Aw, my heart is falling apart for Caroline and Mac. :(
- Their robbery is going so well, oh my.
- "How am I supposed to do something I don't want to do, it's madness!" Oh Guy. I've so been there. :D
I'd wait until the end of the episode (the next 30 minutes to pass) but omg omg omg.
- Guy gets moral hangovers from doing GOOD things. Hahaha, he really is Satan or something. Lovelovelovelove. And how he's all "Don't pretend I have feelings!" and omg Caroline/Mac! Ahhh, such an awesomely hot kiss.
It ended. Bloody fucking hell. Rendered me pretty close to speechless. But I'll scramble together the following thoughts..
- Boyce/Alan on the phone omg. "Are you serenading me with Lionel Richie?" and Alan sooo wanted to say "I just called to say I love you" but naturally didn't and then the ending with Joanna and dgjdsgfdhgjdfgdf THIS SHOW.
- EXPLOSION.
- The wedding. I just. Have no words. Except that I totally recognized Sue's guyfriend (omg his penis! *wipes tears from laughing*) and Guy had a kilt (<33333) and Mac's "Thank god I'm dying!" and "Kiss the bride!" & "I fuck better than the dead husband!".
It's really very odd that this show gets to me in a really emotional way sometimes. I mean, it's just 100% laugh-out-loud funny but the characters, you grow to love them no matter what and that's probably why I have tears in the corners of my eyes now. Goddammit. I love this show so much.
But. I hate to say this but as much as I love this madcap, off-kilter comedy show, I thought the ending was a tad too much. But maybe it's better to leave it all vague and that. But just. Fuck. So out of ordinary in every single way.
Expect some more coherent thoughts later maybe.
