so, bleach.
I am currently at episode 25 and since it's too late to watch any more episodes that I have downloaded, thought I'd make my first Bleach fangirling post.
General talk + some spoilers up to anime episode 25 and PLEASE do not spoil me any further than that.
When someone, I think it was Hannah (wednesday_tea), told me I'd love all characters of Bleach, I was highly suspicious. Er, that's the wrong word. Not suspicious, more like .. doubtful. Yeah, that's the word.
I mean, I don't love *all* the characters from ANY series or ANYTHING I dig in general.
But with this anime.. Well, it's really fun. Fun as in funny, interesting, addictive and just overall enjoyable. And while I don't absolutely *love* all the characters, I can't name one I really dislike - the ones I don't quite like so much are all new characters that were only just presented in the show so I might find out more about them as I get to know them.
But yeah, let's talk.
1. Ichigo. Well, try to name a red-headed character that I don't like! The boy's got an attitude but that's just one of those things, you know. It annoys you if you dislike the character, but if you like the character, you just find yourself grinning at it - his occasional stubborness, hotheadedness, the like.
2. Rukia. I first fell in love with her character. She was so ..calm and serious and to the point. And then she gets sucked into this whole world that she has never experienced and she has to act to be consider "normal" and it's just so interesting. Damn cool girl, this one.
3. Orihime. Of course, like everyone I at first thought she'd be one of those incompetent girls in anime but she is so brilliant! She's got her heart in the right place and she's quirky and while she's not superpowerful, she's got her powers and is able to use them (I so love her powers, too, they're hilarious and cute).
4. Urahara. Something about this dude reminds me of L from Death Note but that's not the only reason I find him so damned cool. I want his babies. The hat! Also, he hires the best staff at his store.
5. Kon! He's so cute. And funny. Yay for mod soul survivors!
6. Tatsuki. Another kickass lady. Also, I'm sorry but this anime is the femslashiest thing ever. It's mind-blowing, it really is.
7. The rest of the Kurosaki family. Duuude, I'm so creeped out by Ichigo's dad but he's still fucking awesome in his own special way. Daddy cool. And Karin! So feisty.
8. Enough about single characters, let's talk general things I like and don't like (all that much. Pluses and minuses!
+ Rukia pulling her "teehee schoolgirl!"-act. So adorable!
+ Ichigo making a comment about Rukia's bunny drawings.
- Orihime's boobs. Enough said.
+ People being all "WTF" when Rukia drags Ichigo to kill Hollows all of the sudden.
+ Kon in general. So much love.
+ Orihime making some completely random comment no one gets but she herself.
+ Tatsuki/Orihime friendship moments. Aww.
+ Urahara appearing out of nowhere just when he is needed. Hurrah!
+ Chad's arm. Dude. Sexy.
+ Rukia being confused by something in the human world-moments. The juice box bit, anyone? Aww.
- When something is drawn in a way that just doesn't look ..natural.
- That awful song with some American woman singing, "whooooa whooooa".
+ Everytime Ichigo makes progress.
+ Everytime anyone (Ichigo, Chad, Orihime, Ishida) makes progress with their skills. Fills the heart with warmth, it does.
+ Ichigo's dad attacking Ichigo. XD!
+ Ichigo's dad (his name is Isshin, right?) being serious.
+ Yeah, Ichigo's dad in general. Except...
- Ichigo's dad perving over his daughters. Dude. Creepeh.
+ Ishida sewing.
- Ishida sewing poor Kon!
9. The other shinigamis that have been presented in these latest episodes I've seen (21->) I am so unsure of. I like the dude with the glasses and I definitely like Renji (he reminds me of Reno from FFVII, how could I not love him?) but that Gin guy freaks me out. And the scar-faced shigami.
10. Ganju. Dude, is it Rukia who killed his brother?! OMG must find out!
11. Help me, I'm actually starting to like the ending song (the one that goes, "..itsumo arigatou, honto arigatou..")!
12. I'm so spoiled but I kind of guessed that Yoruichi-san has a human form so it's okay I got spoiled by the icon communities.
13. Oh, right, shipping.
IchigoxRukia - Duh. I'm pretty damn sure it'll never be canon (this doesn't seem like that kind of a series) but it's still cute. I like it.
RukiaxRenji - I've not seen much of Renji yet but I like the idea already. Roll it in, I'm ready.
IshidaxIchigo - Dude, I get where this comes from but ...I don't know. Not for me? I'm so weird when it comes yaoi pairings. *kicks self*
IshidaxOrihime - I see this around LJ a LOT but I guess it's only coming up in the canon material because I haven't seen anything happen between them. *shrugs*
While watching, I have had a thousand million Rukia-ship ideas pop up in my head. From UraharaxRukia (dude, WTF) to RukiaxKon (again, WTF?) to RukiaxIshida (seriously, I scare myself). So I guess I'm a Rukia/everyone shipper. XD!
14. Fic. I've read drabbles a lot (non-spoilersome drabbles, that is), some ficlets, mostly IchiRuki ones and a few gen ones that were either about Rukia or Ichigo. Oh, and one about Kurosaki Isshin. That one rocked. I should go and add those rocking ficlets to my memories or something so I don't forget them. I sort of want to write myself but not until I've watched every episode there is to watch so far and see where I can go with fic and what would be essentially AU or AU-ish. I always welcome new smaller fandoms to my writing niche even if no one on my flist is willing/knowledgable of the canon to read them. :D
