I used to have 70% black socks, the rest various colors. About five years ago the majority spontaneously changed to navy without my buying any more socks. One might think it was a result of fading dye, right? Then how would one explain the fact that a few years later I noticed I had a drawer full of red socks, and around two each black and navy?

Socks contain secrets we humans cannot understand.

I keep re-reading this, wondering if I could have phrased it better. I don't think I got the point across that I meant to. Oh well.
