Wat Pho, Reclining Buddha, Bangkok

The first thing you see, when you enter the grand pavilion is a row of columns. As you go around the first column, you see a shiny, skin-smooth, wall of gold. You look up, to size this wall and meet the gaze of Buddha. Enormous face is looking down at you and the golden wall is his body, stretched all through pavilion. As you go around, you see how this body is squeezed in to pavilion, it is rather small for him, but he looks relaxed and his contemplative gaze is meeting new and new visitors.
