Betty, it's so hard to relate
to the whole human race
I don't know where to begin
I don't know where to begin
If we could both find a way
to do the things that we say
We might not sit in our rooms
and drink our daydreams away

Sigur Ros is a go! I got my ticket in the mail this weekend. February 21, oh yeah, oh yeah. I can't wait. It's going to be infreakingcredible. I might also get to see Motion City Soundtrack in Chicago, but I'd have to take teh train to get up there. I don't remember how much train tickets cost. Guess I'll find out. It would be most awesome to see them... and their concert tickets are only $15. Score.

Went to Best of Winter's last concert last night. Sad, but Corey and Jared started a new group based in Springfield called The Graduate. They played last night as well and I must say I do like them. The Invincible Speedholes played, too, and I'd never heard them, just heard of them.. they're more of a jam band than anything. Not my thing, but whatever, they were okay. Other bands were Crown Atlantic, whom I'd also never heard of - they were pretty good, but so loud my eyeballs hurt - and The Forecast, out of Peoria, and they were quite good. I liked them a lot.
The crowd was pretty crazy. I'd never been to a concert like that. I guess you could say I lost my mosh virginity - or had it taken, really, considering I wasn't moshing, but being moshed upon. I pushed my way up to front row center, and during the third act people started getting wild. I got sucked in a couple of times, but mostly I kept getting slammed up against the stage, or hurled into the monitor there; more than once I almost ended up on the stage, pushed by the crazy guys behind me. I was one of maybe two girls who were up that close to the stage. I didn't stand a chance. This one guy behind me kept getting shoved on me and he apologized at one point. "I feel like I should have bought you dinner first." That made me laugh.
Overall, it was a good, loud, fun time. I ran into (hah, no pun intended) a lot of people I haven't seen in ages. I'm sore today, from the dance recital and from being trampled, but it's a good kind of ache.
Dance recital went well, too. I keep improving and it never gets any less fun, and I'm going to stick with it as long as I can. I'm sad to have a break, but I'm hyped for spring dances and spring recital. This new year is going to be a good one. My course load is going to keep me very busy, but I welcome the kind of schedule that pushes me.

Lessee... what else..
Might be roadtripping to Decatur for New Year's Eve to do stuff with friends there.. that'll be interesting. It'd be the most excitement I've had on a New Year's Eve since... well, since last year, when I... went bowling. Yyyyeah. Hey, I bowled my first turkey ever, but.. bowling? Yeah, this year will be better.

Randomly, Sally's is going to stop carrying my favorite purple hair dye. I'm quite sad about that. I ordered some just now off teh Internet (<3). Now I have a membership to a company who sells corsets, liquid latex, PVC, leather, and holographic bondage gear. Great.

Enough rambling for now... just a little update for anyone who still reads this.
