I put three Martha Stewart books aside for myself today, to be priced. For some reason, thinking about having these books makes me feel great. I'm gonna decorate the HELL out of this apartment. And not in a stupid way, either.

I'm already thinking about things I can knit, once I get better at it, too. And I will get better at it this winter. I will!

And I'm seriously considering whipping up a version of this shoe rack that I found at notmartha.org. It seems like it would be tiny enough to put somewhere by the steps to get downstairs, and we could be our most-used shoes on/in it. (Like Jamie's pairs of work boots and my work shoes and a pair or two of each of our "go to" shoes that we wear the most.

Speaking of the basement, Bart painted the ceilings and the bathroom today. The bathroom still needs a coat, but it's beautiful. The color's by Behr, and it's called 'Exotic Honey'. I'd show a picture, but it doesn't look a thing like the color the computer shows. It's a rich ochre color. 'S nice. I guess you'll all see in pictures or if you come over!

And yet another segue, if you come over... bring gifts! Just kidding, actually. Although, I've said countless times to Jamie, "I wish we were getting married so people would have to buy us housewarming gifts..." I've got quite a list, though, let me tell you. When we do get married and it's time to get things for real, whoooo boy.

Like, here's one slightly fancy schmancy thing I've had my eye on for awhile: a jigger cube.

I spotted it at our Retro-Metro downtown a few months ago, and now here it is at Wrapables, and also as a recent item at Mighty House. (I told you, I've really gotten into this blog thing.)

Man, and I spent basically all last night looking at dinnerware, because Jamie didn't really like the ones with words on them. What sucks is I'm really drawn to dinnerware with leaves and trees on them, in earthtones, but Jamie thinks that's entirely too seasonal for dishes. *shrugs* A girl can't win, can she?

I'm gonna go take a break I guess, and hang out with actual, physical people.
