Dear School,

When the roads are covered in ice, you cancel school. Or at least open it late. Seriously, I slipped several times walking to class today, and I would've been seriously hurt if I didn't land in the snow.

Also, is it still called black ice if it's technically on brick?

Sincerely,
A bruised and concerned student.

The thought of school actually being closed for snow makes me laugh.

It use to happen, way back when... Ah, the days of my youth, like the scent of fresh lemons...

It would never happen around here. The closest it gets to it is if the buses don't run then the farm kids get to stay home, if you live in town you still have to go to school even if there's a metre of snow and it's -50° outside.

I remember freshman year Delaware closed the school when it snowed in April, I think more due to "wtf, snow in April?" then for legitimate safety concerns. Last year there was a freaking blizzard and the state was in a state of emergency, so the semester started late.

My high school though never closed for snow. Busses would crash on the icy mountain streets, and we still had to go in.

Oh, that sucks. Knees heal quickly, but backs take a while.

Thing was, I checked it back in at the library last night. I couldn't check it out then because the Media Center was closed and that'll be breaking ethics or something. So I went in at 9 before class (library opens at 8) and it was already gone! *rage*
