1. What is your SCA Name? James Beckett of Westmorland
2. What time and where do you portray? Late 16th century English, though I can swing back to late 15th century. I like Elizabethan garb and high gothic armor
3. In plain English describe your device. A golden griffin rearing up, facing left, between 3 gold diamonds (one bottom, two top, in a triangle formation) on a background vertically divided red and blue
4. How long have you been in the SCA? Since late 1994 or early 1995. I forget exactly.
5. Do you have any special titles you have earned? Nothing special. Highest I have is my AoA.

6. What kingdom and local group do you belong to? Barony of Stierbach, Kingdom of Atlantia
7. Do you have preferred colors for your SCA Persona? Blue, Red and Gold
8. What is your war that you look forward to going to every year? I very rarely go to war, but if I did, it would be Pennsic
9. Do you hold any offices? Not at the moment, though I have in the past been
Seneschal of the Incipient Canton of Marshall's Keep (defunct) 3 Years
Seneschal of the Barony of Stierbach roughly 3 Years, I think. It was a fun time to be seneschal, if you're a fan of masochism.
Deputy Kingdom Webminister - 2 years or so, both officially and unofficially.
Warranted Herald at one point.
I've also autocratted a couple of events, lent a hand in many a kitchen, and I tend to serve as sous chef, driver and general pack mule for Master Gruffudd ap Cadfael whenever he's cooking. If you've eaten at just about any of his feasts, with the exception of maybe his first, I've had something to do with your food.
10. Favorite memory from an event? Proposing to my Lady.
11. Are you a fighter? Not currently. I have in the past fought both sword and board, and rapier. I'm also an inactive archer
12. Are you crafty (making things)? I cook, I brew, I can sew, embroider, do stained glass, and some other assorted things. so yeah. My level of motivation on any comes and goes.
13. Do you teach classes at events? I have not, but I could if I chose to I suppose. I have experience teaching.
14. Do you play instruments at events? No. I'm very out of practice, but I have in the past played guitar, violin and piano. At some point, I'll pick them back up
15. Do you dance at events? Never have the chance. Atlantia is not a big dancing kingdom. But I did dance with Her Grace, Kyneburh, once or twice at my first event, and she was very kind and helpful to a terribly uncoordinated, and introverted me.
16. Do you feel that there is enough flirting and chivalrous behavior in the SCA? Flirting, sure. Chivalrous behavior, depends. I haven't been out and about at many events recently.
17. Are you a "Black Hat" or a "White Hat"? Are we talking geek terms? I've been sorta both.
18. What is one of the reasons you've remained in the SCA? Friends.
19. What peerage(s) do you aspire to? Pelican, Laurel. Though I doubt I'll ever get that high. I'd be happy with a Golden Dolphin.

21. If you are a Peer, who was the Crown that elevated you?
22. Have you lived in more than 1 kingdom and which ones? Mundanely, yes, but I've only ever been truly a subject of Atlantia

24. Have you had any house affiliations? Yes. I was a hanger on of House Longshanks, though never officially a member. I was part of House Blackpool Hold for a while. I am also affiliated with House Undertow and am now a protege and a part of Master Gruffudd and Mesterinde Karen's as yet unnamed household
