Another Cool Spot for Rochesterians

At the corner of South Clinton and South Goodman is a movie theatre simply called The Cinema. Friday was the second time I've been there and seriously, it's awesome. They don't have the same selection or stadium seating that big, fancy theatres like the Regal or Tinseltown or any large chains - but they are darned cheap and friendly. The times I've been it hasn't been very crowded. They usually play one movie on it's own at one time, then in the evening they have a double - and get this: the double costs five dollars. That's right, five dollars. They don't even rape you up the ass with concession prices to make up for the ticket prices. Even if you just see one of the films in the double-feature (as we did the first time I went; we saw The Fall which is a few years old but only now being release in the states - it was made in India - and I highly recommend it) it's totally worth it for just five bucks. The selection is the same for a week, then changes on Friday. And there is a resident theatre-kitty (s/he has a basket near the door and prowls the theatre during the films! Best part is it's not too long of a walk for the boy and me, so even better (especially since they have AC and we don't). Seriously all my Rochester-folks, support this spiffy theatre!

In unrelated news, allergies are kicking my ass this summer.
