i miss icq

Apr 15, 2004 17:12

to begin, last friday was obscene amounts of fun. i'd like to thank god, the academy, my parents and anyone who participated/made it possible.

this rant brought to you by JG's journal, the number '8,' and the letter 'f'

remember when icq let you be invisible, so you could chat with people you really did wanna talk to, but you didn't have to get OMG/LoLz/kekeke/kewlzies riddled im's from your little cousins?

or how you could go from offline directly to away, so that it didn't announce to everyone that you had just logged on?

or how when people wanted authorization, they sent you a little message explaining who the hell they were?

instead, i'm responding that, no, i didn't watch american idol last night, i'm prompting ex-girlfriends on my list to snicker as they are informed that i have logged on, and i'm attempting to decypher r@D_h0tt_ki113r@hotmail.com's identity.

maybe i should let microsoft know my concerns. i'm pretty sure they're a company that gives a shit about one disgruntled university student that spends more time trying to steal/hack their software than he would spend earning the money to buy it.

side note: r@d_h0tt_ki113r would be a bitchin' quake clan tag

what's the deal with AIM? shitty? non-shitty?
