The visit of coporate big shots to the store also included managers from other stores to help clean and straighten the place. (What we won't do for the customers, we'll do for the big shots. At least nobody repeats the lie that the customer is always first.)
A hot manager I've never seen before walked through my aisle. Because I working a pallet of product, I was surprised when she walked through a second time with equipment that she took off the shelf in the next aisle. I concluded that her going out of her way to pass by me a second time meant that she was somewhat interested.
Although I was flattered, no manager nowadays would give serious consideration to a workplace affair. Frankly, she was hotness made manifest and she could absolutely do better. Perhaps, she missed her father.
By the time I got home, I realized that I was right that she checked me out, but she was most likely doing what managers do and scrutinizing the length of time it took me to perform the task at hand.
Regretfully, the chore was lifting 40# boxes of liquid laundry detergent residue from a previous sale. The desire to move only the boxes necessary slowed my progress.
bummer.
