the captain is sober today

It's the Festival of the Arts at downtown Grand Rapids. I made a point of hearing the GR Youth Symphony Orchestra because one of Myra's friends would have had a daughter performing with it. Since the daughter (and her mother) weren't to be seen, I would guess that the family moved in search of employment. Meijer probably laid off the father in the dispicable blood letting a few years back. Working in IT, a target had been painted on his back.

Thanks to the popular idea of what music means, I sat through the hell of over-amplified, out-of-balance, stage and wind infested music mayhem. The kids had acoustical instruments. Please don't amplify them.

I had a headache that I took to my downtown coffee-monger. (He plays cello in the GR Symphonette.)

Today I walked around and simply ignored the noise. I didn't expect anything, so I had no disappointment.

Yesterday's inebriation revealed something about myself. Both Norma and I had spent hours with our cousin and his wife. We had a great time but, stopping at Meijer for stuff, we both bought booze.

My self isolation might be a good thing for my health.
