AnOTP: Henry/Ada Clare

Henry is sprawled in a chair in the library, reading a book thoughtfully. The Silmarillion actually, though it's not helping the little niggling worry that just won't go away. He almost wishes for a distraction, though he won't put the book down otherwise. He knows there are things in here he needs to know. And that this world is surreal sometimes

Well, perhaps a distraction will come in the form of Miss Ada Clare, who, lacking other occupation, has wandered into the library.

He looks up, and then smiles, closing the book. Excellent.

"Miss," he says, standing up and bowing.

[dearcousin]

She starts, but smiles shyly. "Sir."

[fitzroyal]

He smiles back. "I don't believe I've met you before...?"

[dearcousin]

She dips at once into a curtsy. "Ada Clare, sir."

[fitzroyal]

A bow. "Henry Fitzroy. A pleasure to meet you."

[dearcousin]

"A pleasure, Mr Fitzroy. I- I hope I did not distract you from your reading."

[fitzroyal]

"No - not at all. It wasn't pleasurable, anyway." A touch of a slight smile. "Are you here looking for something?"

[dearcousin]

"Oh- no. I mean, I don't know. I just thought to- to look in."
