My wife was recently gifted a £50 voucher for a spa treatment at a lpcal hotel.
About two weeks ago she went to the spa to make an appointment.
The receptionist asked for her credit card details.
Why? After all it is pre-paid.
"In case you do not turn up for the appointment"
But that makes no sense
"If I fail to keep the appointmnt...you have already been paid"
"Its procedure"
Well ok. My wife gave her credit card details.
At this point I should say that older people are often victims of scammers.
And TV News keeps warning us about the latest scam.
Anyway my wife got the spa treatment.
It was good but my wife is not really a spa person. And she considers vouchers to be a lazy gift. And it ties her down to spending in one business.
Later the same day my wife got an email.
How did she rate the treatment.
Tick one star. Two star. Three star, four star. Five star.
And perhaps she would like to leave a tip...10%, 20%...FORTY PER CENT!!!
My wife did not reply to the email
Is that why credit card details was "procedure"...soliciting a tip.
