The nice thing about today was that I got to see Hilary and catch up on Marble Hornets. Hilary's apartment has wooden floors! (Since I tend to compare apartments to the various dorm rooms I've lived in, I'm a bit easily impressed.) I like wooden floors. They're excellent for sliding around in your socks, and they sweep up easy, and they don't make you feel like you're living in a school cafeteria.
The other nice thing today was that I went to a sophisticated university lecture with lots of big fancy words in it, lots of references to Lacan, and I believe I more or less understood everything. I even made comments that didn't sound idiotic or emerge from my mouth as an inarticulate, whispery mumble or as a confused, hyper-verbose barrage of bad similes. Sweet!
I did spend most of the morning and afternoon feeling awful again, but sometimes you just can't fix feeling awful. Sometimes you understand that even venting on the internet won't do you any cathartic good.
