Aspects of the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's that provoked moral outrage from my mother:
- The prostitution
-The alcoholism
-The smoking
-The shoplifting scene
-Holly's gold-digging
-Holly's poor financial sense
-The drug trafficking
-Any mistreatment of the cat
Aspects of the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's that did not provoke moral outrage from my mother:
-The racist, incredibly stereotypical "Japanese" landlord (actually Mickey Rooney in makeup)
- The whole child-bride thing
- The whole "I own you" thing
- The part where they try to write in a library book
- The stereotyping of southerners as hicks who can't speak "real" English and marry fourteen-year-old kids
