[For the past five days, the Nexus has seemed... a little quieter, somehow. The kitchens suddenly don't look like a tornado has blown through them around dinner time, and healthy young ladies and gentlemen can walk around with much less potential for harrassment

Wh-- put the gun down...!

[Kaz's weary eyes meet Liquid's, his fingers flexing in the sheets. Is he dreaming this? His posture fully displays his exhaustion, his other hand lazily resting on his bare belly. His shirtlessness probably added all the more to Liquid's temporary confusion.]

Why are you here?

Of course not...

[His smile is weak but there. Slowly, he sits up from the expensive-looking sheets and sighs following the effort. Kaz is so tired, he's not sure his body has ever been in such a sorry state without injury.]

... I haven't eaten in five days. Can you get me out of here...?

[No point in dancing around the truth. He knows he's been slowly dying and his savior might just be standing before him.]

[Kaz sighs again, shaking his head slightly.]

You're still on about that? I'm not going to let you kill me, so help me or leave.

[He looks up at Liquid's tall figure, his audible breath filling the silence.]

[Kaz smiles slowly and leans his head against Liquid's forearm. Though it's somewhat clouded by tiredness, real emotion shines in his eyes. It's the same look he gave to the bundle in his arms, to the boy who successfully speared a fish, to the man who doesn't believe he can be loved.]

I know you won't do it.

[Kaz's smile remains on his face as he's lifted up. Quite certain that he's going to be alright now, he closes his eyes and rests. The brief kiss planted to Liquid's back says everything he means.]

[Kaz gradually takes the (sometimes) bitter vitamins, his eyes looking around the kitchen and taking in the newest surroundings he's seen in a while. Once he's downed them, he smells the soup before it gets to him, and is on it in a heartbeat.]

[He tries not to go too fast, but he's definitely moving faster than normal, let alone faster than normal for someone who hasn't eaten. He seems completely unaware of the fact that he's making all kinds of approving and pleased sounds, and is slurping the soup.]

[Damn, but it feels good to have food again.]

[Kaz's eyes shift to Liquid for a moment before he slows down just a little.]

[He's a bit more focused on how damn good the food is rather than on Liquid's words which confuse him. He's too fatigued to really take it in.]

[So he says something Liquid's probably not going to see coming.]

[Kaz finishes the cracker in his mouth and sighs.]

Then leave. I won't make you stay.

[His eyes look straight ahead, blankly from his weak condition, and takes another spoonful of the soup in his mouth.]
