[Obligatory Naked Post]

[Being a man of luxury, it was no surprise that a certain Hell Master had taken liberty in implementing certain elements into MSF to suit his needs. Ever so slowly, he found himself becoming more and more integrated into the surroundings and finding a creative light at the end of the tunnel as he adapts the base to his liking ( Read more... )

[Ever since she was little, Fortune enjoyed being by the water. Maybe it was because she had a Marine for a father, and sometimes got to visit him on the large military ships he would ride. Though rare, it was always a pleasant experience.]

[After joining the Navy herself, the woman would often spend a lot of free time going through the water-based exercises that they had soldiers preform. In a pool much like this one, she'd continue swimming until her limbs burned with the strain that she put upon her muscles. Fortune would dive underwater, closed off from the world, surrounded by nothing but the cool water, and contemplate remaining beneath that surface until her lungs gave out...]

[But presently, Fortune comes up for air after being submerged for multiple minutes. She could never hold her breath for as long as Vamp could. And of course no one could beat Chinaman's record before he died during the Liquidation of Dead Cell ( ... )

[Having just emerged from the sauna, the Hell Master's face was slick with sweat, his blonde hair forming damp tendrils around his face from where the band had been loosened. He was on the way to the bar himself - when he noticed a shimmering figure in the water of the pool. Stunned momentarily by the linear way the figure was moving, Miller watched on with an intent gaze; the figure below the surface of the water was powerful, strong, perhaps even deadly.]

[When the woman emerges to the surface, gasping for air, the Hell Master cannot remove his dark eyes from the tormented soul. As Fortune heaves herself out from the water's edge, the man grows captivated by her figure and the natural beauty of her face. He can see each droplet of water trickle down her collarbone, along her shoulders, down the back of her thighs... His eyes drink in the sight as he openly admires the woman's form.]

Stunning...

? [Abruptly stopping mid-stride, Fortune looks over her shoulder, directly in the Hell Master's direction as though she could sense his eyes upon her- despite standing several feet away.]

[When those cool eyes catch his own through the aviators, Miller is forced to giving the woman a dashing smile. From the bar, he collects two bottles of chilled water and begins to approach the unfamiliar figure.]

You must be an athlete with a body like that.

[Initially, she was just staring to figure out whether the person looking at her posed an immediate threat or not. But she gets no feeling of blood-lust within this man.]

[A relaxed sort of expression eases it's way onto her features at his words. ...So that's how it is. She's had a reputation as being cursed for so long that the woman almost forgot what it was like to be hit on.]

[Almost challengingly] And what is my body like, exactly? [Fortune's deep, rich voice speaks smoothly in her ever-so-slight New York accent.]

Please- do tell me in great detail.

[...Yeah, she has intentionally scared off plenty of interested men with that direct, queenly attitude of hers- even long before becoming a soldier. Perhaps she inherited her father's commanding presence.]

[It's a good job the Hell Master enjoys a challenge. He was glad that Fortune didn't recoil to his unabashed flattery, for he would have missed that silken voice of hers speak out in response.]

It's strong, powerful, sculpted. You know how to look after your body, and it shows. You also know how to use your body, how to manipulate it-

[He gestures to the water.] -like in there, for example. You're an amazing swimmer. You must have medals; if not for athletics then for your beauty.

[The smallest of grins tug at her lips when Miller doesn't back down or become intimidated by her request. Towards the end of his description, the woman quirks a brow at the potentially suggestive words about the way she knows how to "use" her body- before he gestures over to the water. Fortune almost laughs. Looks like it was her mind that went to the gutter for a moment there.] Ah, swimming.... right.

[Shaking her head] No- I haven't actually competed since High School. It's just a hobby of mine, really. Being a Navy woman means there are plenty of opportunities to swim.

[Placing a hand on her hip as he mentions her beauty.] You're a bold one...

Oh! So you're in the Navy... Well, that explains it. Disciplined and toned, just like the militants. I'm impressed.

[Combing his long fingers back through his hair, Miller tides his appearance by collecting the long strands back into a ponytail. His hair was thinning, which was evident by the receding hairline along his creased forehead.]

Life's too short to keep compliments to oneself. Even if it means getting a few slaps - or punches.

...Alright, I'll bite.

You carry yourself and speak like a man of importance. You've lead quite the impressive career, I bet. [As usual, her uncanny intuition was back at it again.] Who are you, exactly?

[Extending her own hand; still dampened with the moisture of the pool.] They call me Fortune. [Chin held high] Leader of Dead Cell.

[The man extends his hand before Fortune, gripping it to shake it firmly, and offers a gleaming smile.]

I'm McDonell Miller, also known as the Hell Master. I'm a drill instructor for those in the militant factor... including the infamous Solid Snake. I'm certain you've heard of him. Even if you haven't, I used to be a member of FOXHOUND. That should be prestigious enough.

[Once the handshake has been finished, Miller plants his hands on his hips.] I'm afraid I've not heard of this "Dead Cell". It sounds intriguing.

[There goes her fleeting attempt at a day of peace and relaxation. Almost immediately, the mood changes. A dark, dangerous expression settles on the woman's face.] ...Solid Snake... You don't say.

Would he happen to be here, too?

Of course he is! There's a great few number of them lingering around. I'm sure if you squint hard enough, you'll notice them.

[Miller has yet to notice the dark expression...]

Perfect. That's the best news I've heard all day.

[Suddenly snatching the cooled drink that Miller got for her moments prior, Fortune splashes the man right in the face with it before turning to march off in the opposite direction.]

"Prestigious" my ass.... [Carelessly tossing the now-empty bottle off to the side as she moves.]

!!!

[Miller blinks, though his aviators protect him from the water splashed directly into his face. He sputters, water dribbling from his lips as he stares in shock at the woman wandering off.]

[He quickly rubs his face clear of the cool liquid, trying to play it off without causing too much attention to himself.] Uh... Yeah! Call me, okay?

[Well that was embarrassing...]
