[EVENT: War as a video game]

[For a brief moment, Meryl thought that she had actually been transported back to the Middle-East... but no- this is slightly different than any area she's ever been to. It's still hot; and quite the dust-trap- but this place just feels off. She doesn't have very long to fret about the situation before a holographic MENU screen is suddenly displayed right before her eyes.]

"The hell...?" [Apparently, the RULES of this game are finally being displayed to her...]

((OOC: It's time to play some MGO! ...Well, kinda. In this room, your muse is being thrown into an area that looks just like the Metal Gear Online area "Midtown Maelstorm", as seen in the picture above. Here's how this is different than actual MGO: Anyone appearing in this room with the word "Soldier" above their head is given a bare minimum of weapons and items to gather from within the battlefield. These items are sparse, but there should be enough for everyone to find their own submachine gun, hand gun, throwing/placing item, and/or bonus item of your choosing. (A good example of bonus items would be Drum barrels, Cardboard boxes, Thermal Goggles, Knives, ect.) All Soldiers are given a 3-hour time limit to gain 3 kills, after which they are able to exit the room. Failure to gain 3 kills within the time-limit will result in them losing the game. Soldiers are able to die an infinite amount of time without penalty. Soldiers are free to go after fellow soldiers or civilians for their kills.))

((People appearing in this room with the word "Civilian" above their head have no weapons of their own, and are unable to pick up any that they may find. Unlike soldiers, Civilians are able to leave the simulation at any time... as long as they can actually make it to the small Exit on the far side of the map without dying more than 3 times themselves. If a civilian dies 3 times, they lose the game. If a Civilian locates and makes it to an exit- or just survives past the 3 hour time-limit without losing, than they are sent back outside of the room instantly.))

((TL;DR: Soldiers have to kill 3 times to leave, Civilians just have to survive or escape. It doesn't matter whether your muse is an actual soldier or civilian; you're free to designate your characters whichever you like for the game. Every time someone dies, they respawn with full health all the way back at the original checkpoint area that they initially appeared from. There IS actual pain-sensation in this room, so dying is probably not a pleasant experience- even if there's no real danger involved here. Warning: Everyone who loses the game will be forever shamed with having the word "LOSER" imprinted across their foreheads for the rest of the day.))

((All of these rules are spelled out to the players upon their initial appearance in the room. There are no set teams; it's every man for themselves... But if your characters want to form an alliance of some sort with others, that's their choice. You certainly don't have to have any actual MGO experience to understand these rules, since this room works a bit differently than MGO anyways. For reference, it probably does help you to better visualize the area if you've played Metal Gear Online 1 or 2 before, though. NOTE: THIS POST IS A COMPLETE FREE-FOR-ALL! In other words, THREAD-HOPPING IS ALLOWED! So your character should always watch their back for surprise-encounters. Just remember to avoid Godmodding, and have fun!))
