[Once he reaches her place, he straightens out his jacket then takes a deep breath. John raises his hand on knocks on her door.]

[Very confused about the prospect of having a visitor, EVA doesn't hesitate before taking her gun with her as she quickly opens the door]

[The woman inhales a short breath as she recognizes the visitor]

...Snake? [EVA slowly lowers her weapon.]

Is that how you greet an old friend?

[He tilts his head slightly as he regards her and her seemingly surprised expression. Did he really manage to sneak up on her?]

Thanks. I really rather not get shot in my best [and only] tux.

I heard you were here, but... It's been over two years...

[The woman fully opens her door; dressed only in very casual silk pajamas. She looks Snake over, then herself. Of all the states to be seen in for the first time in years... She has to be entirely without makeup and wearing her pajamas.] ...Suddenly I feel very under-dressed.

[Hubba, hubba! It takes some work for Jack to remain calm and composed and to not pounce her like a wolf.]

Seeing as I am just dropping in unannounced, I expected as much. Sorry for not planning this with you earlier. This was...sort of a spontaneous thing.

[He gives her a genuine yet casual smile to punctuate his previous statement.]

[EVA raises her brow] ...You clean up well. [Though his usual, more 'wild' style is something the woman can also appreciate.]

Interesting. [EVA walks to the side of her doorway and gestures for Snake to walk inside.] Would you like to come in, Mr. Spontaneous?

[John adjusts his bow tie.] Thanks.

I'd like that. [He steps inside and glances around at his new surroundings.]

Nice place you got here.

[As can be expected, EVA's place is lavishly furnished and looks very high class.]

It is, isn't it?

[She closes the door behind him and walks ahead; going out into the living room] I'm still in the process of decorating.

Would you like a drink?

[The decor is a bit rich for his tastes, but it's still nice. He's happy to let her know that she's done a good job on the place, but it is more than he'd ever do for himself.]

This place is amazing. This was all your idea?

[He strides over to her couch and takes a seat. It's pretty confortabe for something so eloquent.]

Sure. I'd love a glass of Bourbon; neat.

It was, yes. Took me a while to move some of this furniture in here, but the effort was worth it in the end.

[She walks into her kitchen area and starts preparing their drinks] Coming right up.

[EVA comes back out with two glasses- one of which is handed to Snake before she takes a seat on the couch opposite of him.]

[A short pause] ...This is... a little surreal, isn't it?

You managed all this by yourself? Impressive...

[John leans back in his seat, making himself more comfortable. Once EVA returns with the drinks, he smiles up at her as she hands him his.] Thanks.

... [John furrows his brows purposefully.]

'Surreal'? How's that?

[EVA crosses her legs] I thought I'd never see you again. ...And if I did see you again, I never thought it'd be like this.

[She looks down at her drink] It almost feels like time hasn't passed at all.

[Looking up at Snake] Sorry. I suppose I'm still not used to what this building can do.

[He forces himself to stay positive, projecting a pleasant visage.]

Well, I am here now. Perhaps we should make the most of this chance that we have been given.

[John takes a sip of his drink to help calm his anxiety.]

It still feels like 1964 to me.

...You're right. We've got a chance to get to know each other all over again... It'd be best to make the most of this opportunity.

[EVA smiles, and raises her glass to him] To the present. [The woman takes a sip of her own drink]

[Big Boss raises his glass to her.] To the present; to us. [He drinks the rest of the contents of his glass.]

[EVA also finishes the rest of her glass; red wine, as usual. She then places her glass upon the coffee table between them.]
