Holy shit guys! KIDDIELAND!

Nov 19, 2010 16:37

[After the enjoyment of the paintball event in the jungle, it had come to David's attention that there was very little fun going on in the Nexus. Sure, there was some "fun" for adults, but what about the kids of the future? Where was their fun? While he understood that his training to become a soldier was indeed important, he wouldn't be a youth ( Read more... )

[There were bright lights and candy floss. Of course it would be heaven for a teenage Liquid. Hence why the thirteen year old was practically bouncing off the walls with excitement. And energy. Because what was a Liquid if not energetic.]

[David has yet to properly meet his twin. Now that he sees his younger brother, he isn't exactly sure how to handle it. The boy looks to be near enough the same age as himself.]

[So he keeps his distance for the time being and concentrates on firing his water pistol at various targets before him in the hopes of winning a prize.]

[James had met an the older one, but never a younger one. As a result, he didn't bat an eyelid at the boy he saw out of the corner of his eye - except that he had rather good aim.

More out of curiosity and the thought that he might be able to find a decent challenge, he stepped up to the game too, not looking at the other boy.]

I bet I can hit more than you.

Hnh. I'd like to see you try.

[David re-fills his gun with water to stock up for the challenge. He raises his weapon of choice and squints an eye shut in order to hit the targets accordingly.]

[Oh, now that sounded like a challenge! He selected his own gun and readied it.]

We'll see. I don't lose.

[Liquid was more the type to go for speed and overkill. He would, on occasion, forsake normal methods of accuracy by simply ensuring the target could not be missed. That meant using a little more water than was necessary in this case, but that didn't bother him too much.]

[Dem's fightin' words!]

That's because you've never challenged me before.

[Unlike James, David took his time. Accuracy was important, and it was easily achieved when one was patient.]

[He relaxed, and shot a target dead center.]

Hah! Cocky, aren't you?

[Speed was more important to Liquid. If you had weapons with a high enough fire rate, you didn't need to worry about being incredibly accurate.

That didn't mean he wasn't aiming. Just that he wasn't working as long on it. Most of his shots were somewhat off-center, although he handled the gun as if it were a real weapon.]

I'm not cocky, I'm just good.

[It was taking David a tad longer to shoot the targets. He wasn't quite as professional as his older self yet, but he was certainly getting there. The targets he was hitting, however, were all in the center. He was undeterred by James' attempts to beat him.]

You're too slow, that's what you are!

[Liquid laughs, amused by the other boy. Whoever he is, he's interesting. And a very good shot. That's something curious. It's like he's been trained. It's actually making him suspicious.]
