[Despite the warnings of not being where he thought he was when conversing with "Big Boss" earlier, Solid Snake was a soldier through and through. It was far too quiet, and the mercenary had been taught never to lower his guard no matter the situation. When a scenario maintained peace, it meant that he was at a greater risk of being subjected to an

Much.]
...Brother?
[Well, this isn't the smiley one, and it doesn't look like the one that Brother called "his"...]
My, my, there do seem to be a slight few more of you lately. Unfortunately, the only map available has only a few areas on it. The Rooms change, rendering it useless.

[He wraps his long fingers around his weapon and draws it from his holster to aim for Liquid's neck.]
You were a ghost. You, living like this... It's impossible.

Oh, for the love of...
[Strong fingers wrapped around the tranquilizer gun his father had given him, drawing it from the holster to aim at Solid's head.]
I'm alive. I came here from 2005. I'm not going to try to explain anything to you. Feel free to think you've gone insane if you'd rather accept that explanation.

I sent you to Hell where you belong.

[Also not lowering it.]

[In a flash of movement, Snake barged his gun against his Twin's and slammed the barrel into his wrists to urge him to drop his weapon.]

Sorry, but I won't die here! I have no quarrel with you, but if you're going to threaten me, Brother, you'll regret it!
Reply
You really think you deserve to live after everything you've done?
[He clenches his fist and attempts to punch Liquid in the shoulder.]

I never said that. But while I have life, I will hang on to it! I have people who will be unhappy if I die. I refuse to make them suffer any more!
Reply
Unhappy? You're delusional. No-one would give a damn if either of us died. Don't you dare give yourself more credit than you're worth-!
[He threw Liquid over his shoulder.]

I have a lover and several friends here. I think they'd give a damn. You're the one that's delusional.
[A slight smirk graced his face.]
Odd... the tables have turned. You used to be the one protesting that we were more than just pitiful copies... and yet you're the one denying that Emmerich would cry if you died? Or Silverburgh? My... you've grown.
[Lifting the tranquilizer gun, he fired it at Snake's head.]
But I'm not interested in playing your little game!

What exactly are you using them for? Pawns for your bidding? It wouldn't surprise me.
[There's no way he could ever view Liquid as being anything but monstrous for his actions. He was a nutcase. And that was putting it lightly.]
This isn't a game-!
[Snake raised his arm up to defend himself from the tranquilizer. It pierced his skin, the liquid infiltrating his bloodstream but it wasn't quite enough to knock him out. He grabbed the prick and pulled it out of his arm.]

[Odd, that their situations should have reversed so much... That Snake should now be the one finding it so difficult to understand anything. He stood proud, out of range of physical attacks.]
Yes, you're right. I am a monster. But there are people even I love, something I didn't know I was capable of until I found myself trapped in this eternal limbo. You don't know me. Don't you dare assume I feel nothing!
[He had lethal weaponry, something that could be blatantly seen on his person, yet he kept the tranquilizer pistol in hand. Killing Snake here would be pointless... all it would do was give a three day reprieve. But if the man was going to attack him blindly when he encountered him, that would become a problem.]
Listen to me. I have no quarrel with you!
Reply
You didn't care. How the Hell can you change?
[He reached for that tranquilizer in an attempt to lower it.]
They must be stupid to trust you.

[He kept the tranquilizer out of his brother's hands, focusing it on him, but not firing.]
Don't you dare insult them. Perhaps they are naive to trust me, but they're not stupid.

[Snake took a step back when the weapon was lowered out of his reach. He rummaged in his pocket for a cigarette. It appeared as though he was backing down.]
I've killed a lot of people. I can imagine it and I've witnessed you going down that route. But there's a line I refuse to step over; killing innocents and engaging in nuclear warfare. Until you can prove to me that you have no ties to Metal Gear, nuclear weapons or the slaughter or innocent civilians, you and I will remain enemies.
