So much for the planned entry...
As an avid sci-fi fan, I am very interested in intergalactic travel. I want to know how we could accomplish it for one thing (we need something that works at faster than light or an alternate dimension or Something). Star Trek uses "warp" and "transwarp" to achieve faster than light speeds. The Animorphs series used something called "zero-space" - the idea is that it's another dimension that you pop in and out of. In Cowboy Bebop they had "gates" to facilitate travel through the solar system (so it only took days and not years).
Anyway, technicalities about How aside... who wouldn't want to meet aliens? Ok, benign aliens anyway? It'd be nice to know that we are not alone in this giant galaxy of ours. It would make me really depressed if we never met other higher order forms of life, that we are somehow alone and unique. (maybe then we'd become like the Alphans. Hell if I know. Star Trek reference in case you were wondering).
Planned entry was a rumination on adaptation, but that can wait.
