I mean that in the nicest way possible, I assure you. I just dont understand the appeal of 40 year old men who wear eye liner and clothes only 13 year olds who frequent Hot Topic would find acceptable. Someone needs to take them, Madonna's old ass, Lady Gaga, and the Backstreet Boys and put them in a car, drop it into the ocean, and hope the pressure crushes them. (Think Transformers)
Current Obsession: 30 Rock.
Well, I went through a bunch of old entries for shits and giggles and decided to make my journal public. I mean, I'm not in high school anymore and I dont really care what people have to say about me so why the hell not. I also decided to do a mega update today so bear with me.
Current weight: 185 lbs.
I'm actually really happy at the moment, regardless of my weight, I'm very comfortable with me. I do however wish the stop smoking initiative were slightly easier, but if it was I wouldn't learn my lesson now would I?
Currently doing: Checking out new music.
So Erin and I were talking and she said that out of all her friends I am the one with the most music, which I believe to be true. While most add obscure music to their iPod for aesthetic value, I'm a true music fan. I love music. Granted I'm not listening to much American music as of late (abusing Autotune is not cool), I've been really into music thats burning up the British charts. Lately I've been listening to Noisettes (they're phenomenal), La Roux (whom people hate for their comments about how women sometimes deserve to be hit when they provoke men), and Little Boots (although I get the feeling her tracks were intended for Kylie or Lady Gaga).
Also I just wanted to come out and defend Taylor Swift. She recently appeared in a promo for the 2009 VMA's where she performed "Tonight" from West Side Story. People on all the blogs I read have been tearing her apart for her "ear raping vocals" and disregard for a classic. First I'm going to talk solely about West Side Story, if it weren't for the score (not the song book) no one would remember that musical. The songs are disposable; the music is not. Secondly, Taylor Swift is a marginally talented tween sensation who writes her music using 5 notes, but to hear her sing the shit out of a Broadway classic and even belt? I was very impressed. Yeah, her notes were a little off, but she really shocked me. Oh, and I just want to go on record and say she needs to start shedding that eternally 15 thing she was going on before it's too late. I want her to get into the studio with Danjahandz or Bloodshy & Avant or The Neptunes as soon as possible. Now is the time for her to experiment with her sound and realize you can maintain your artistic integrity even while venturing out on her own path. While I want her to move to the dark side and do a very club ready album, I just think she needs a kick in the pants to see one day she'll want to grow up, yet her window gets smalled with every album she releases.
***To be fair, I have never listened to a Taylor Swift album, aside from the singles. I know very little about her career and her as a person.***
