Totally agree about the need for more science education for the general public and that faith and science are not mutually exclusive! Nothing gets me on a rant more than someone who denies science (evolution, cosmology, age of the planet, whatever) based on misunderstood or misrepresented religious arguments. (Deniers of religion/theology based on misunderstood or misrepresented science are also aggravating.) It saddens me that the general public is so distrustful of science and scientists because they lack understanding of even the basics.
