A/N: For the 7spells prompt challenge, 1/7, so I rp as Andi, but this is my first try at writing the pairing, so con-crit appreciated :) Oh yeah, some more background - um, this is their 6th year - so it's Ancient Runes NEWT level, and little Sirius would be a 1st year - causing pranks on a smaller scale but still causing them. And now to find an Andi/Ted icon! - OK found one :)

Andromeda Black, the original white sheep amongst a family of black sheep, sat in the expansive Hogwarts library surrounded by piles of books on Ancient Runes. She had already finished the rest of her homework (for the next two weeks) and so she had left herself with a simple runic translation, or so she thought. It would have been simple, if she could find the rune alphabet to translate from. It turned out that the rest of her Runes class had come to the library at the same time as her (’Great Ravenclaw minds think alike.’ She reminded herself dully) and so the book she needed was being used by one of her housemates.

She glanced around the Ravenclaws that were near her, well, she mostly looked at the books that they were using. Then she saw it Advanced Runic Alphabets abandoned on the table in front of the muggleborn, she fished around in her head for a name. Andromeda may have had nearly all of her classes with the boy, but she was not concentrating on the muggleborns in the class - she was concentrating on learning - like a good Ravenclaw.

Thoughts of her mother and older sister floated through her head, about fraternising with mudbloods and being a disgrace to the Black family for not having allowed herself to be sorted in Slytherin. It was not her fault if the hat thought she would do better in Ravenclaw, and privately Andromeda agreed with it - but she was clever enough not to say that in front of her mother or sister. She could remember the lecture she had been given as if it was yesterday, Andromeda had almost cheered when her younger cousin Sirius had been sorted into Gryffindor, his mother was worse than her own and at least Ravenclaw was respectable compared to Gryffindor.

Andromeda brought herself back to the present and reminded herself of the Ancient Runes book. She would have to ask for it from the boy, she got up and walked over to him, she bit her lip and then cleared her throat.

"Excuse, but could I borrow this book?" She asked politely as his name came to mind - Theodore Tonks.

"Of course Miss Black," the boy picked it up and held it out to her. Andromeda took it, her long, pale fingers brushed his slightly tanned ones as her hand closed around it. She felt a jolt of something, like an electric shock, and forced herself not to react - she was a Black after all, but she could still feel a small tingle where she had touched him accidentally. She retreated back to her table and threw a grateful smile over her shoulder to him, their eyes locked and she could see some form of confusion glittering in the muggle’s eyes which was probably mirrored in her own.

She sat down and opened the book to the relevant page, picked up her quill and readied it over the parchment, and caught herself as she stared at the tanned boy. She blushed and focussed herself on the translation, she would not fall for a muggleborn, her whole family would kill her.
