First class went well, though I've read and reread the short story we were supposed to work on ('The Horse Dealer's Daughter', by D.H. Lawrence) and have already made my notes on the epiphany, particularly useful quotes and the different symbols (oh god, there are so many). I'm compiling different interpretations of the characters now, and theories as to motivations.
I don't particularly like the story due to the over-heavy use of symbolism, but it doesn't mean that I am incapable of seeing said symbolism or writing about it.
