So my good friend Panooch is directing once again at MCC and has chosen to do The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail- which reminds me a lot of The Band's 'The night they drove old Dixie down...' but I digress. He called tonight to say, "Patrick, it's abysmal. Just abysmal. The seven year old and the twelve year old I had to cast were correcting my male lead on pronunciation. I had an overweight Vinnie Barbarino show up, standing like his balls were too big for his legs, and he'd say 'shit' or 'fuck' after every line he screwed up. When I asked him if he wouldn't mind being an extra in the battle scenes he said, 'Ah, yeah. I think I have better things to do with my time.' Oh, Patrick, it is abysmal."
