With "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" coming out...

Well, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is due in cinemas later this year, and looking interesting. We'll get a cameo of Tilda Swinton - probably a flashback on Ramadu's Island - and hopefully the reference to meeting "a band of lost warriors" means the monopods. Interesting analysis.

I can see why they left the Aslan parade out of the movie, but it loses a lot in doing so.

I liked the White Witch scene too.

But it really isn't OK for the good guys to summon ancient evils in the belief they can control them. The arrogance of thinking they could control them will corrupt their innocence, so they are no longer the good people they once were. If you use the wrong means, the results will be different, because you no longer have quite the same people or the same goals that they started with.

One shouldn't try to use the One Ring against the bad guys either...

point: although Nikabrik didn't seem to think he could control the White Witch; he was happy for her to rule Narnia so long as she killed all the Telmarines.
The real problem is, they didn't really think of Aslan as any *different* to the White Witch: in both cases they were after a mystic killing machine.
