Yay Update!

Forgive me Livejournal for I have sinned. It has been 6 weeks since my last update.

A lot has happened in 6 weeks. Hmmm....

We saw two operas - Don Giovanni and Samson and Delilah. Don Giovanni was performed by a very small, local opera company. While the singing and music were amazing, the lame sets, costumes and blocking made the whole thing feel like bad dinner theater. Joe loved it, of course. He couldn't wait to go again. Sure enough we had tickets less than 2 weeks later for Samson and Delilah. This was a huge company performing in the "big" theater at Broward Center. This show was AMAZING. KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF, HOLY COW I HAD NO IDEA, UNBELIVABLY FANTASTIC. I'm glad I gave opera another chance and would gladly go again.

In between these bouts of culture there has been poker, karaoke, and general normalcy.

Liz and Chris have officially become karaoke regulars. Now I just have to get them to come and hang out on poker days. Last night we had an Easter egg hunt at karaoke where you had to pick an egg out of a basket on your turn. Inside the egg was either nothing, a free drink, free food, or the name of a ridiculous children's song that you had to sing before your "real" song. It was absolutely hilarious. If you claim you don't like karaoke but have never really gone, you seriously are missing out on some funny shit.

Joe officially moved in with me last weekend. It's been a tough transition but I think we're going to be ok. Joe is a complete pack rat and I'm just....not. I LURV to throw stuff away. I was very tough on myself in making room for him and threw away a lot of really nice stuff. I can't get Joe to even throw out a 12 year old road atlas. It's making me insane, especially when he says "I'll put it in the garage". We are going to have the most overstuffed mish-mashy garage space on the planet. But it's HIS garage so he can do whatever he wants. It has a stereo, TV, dvd, love seat, plus all his workshop equipment. I think he'd rather just live in there. Other than that, it has been really great. His cats have not killed my cats yet and vice versa.

Work is still work, and now that my big project with not-great-at-math second graders is over I'm back to being assigned what I deem "busy work". Whatever. I'm still waiting for Ed McMahon to show up on my doorstep with that giant check.

So all in all, great adventures, great relationship, great friends, great family, great future plans. Everything is G-R-E-A-T! Except that I could really use a nap about now.

Word to your mutha.
