The old times and the new...
Was at Ya Kun @ Lot 1 today with tweety bird and then came in this family of 5 who sat on the table behind us. Among them was the mum, grandma, 2 girls and the maid.
The mum left to order drinks and the 2 girls were snuggling and grabbing the two arms of the maid to ask her to sit with them. o_O
Out of a sudden, it dawned on me tat family ties may not be as close as it was during the older days where the kids were brought up either by grandmas or our mums who were housewives. I think i was very close to my mum and grandma when i was young but now seems like the maid has taken the role of a surrogate mother.
Think its kinda sad. Times haf moved so fast and parents are all out to earn money and are pampering kids with materialistical needs to easen their guilt for neglecting their child. Healthy?
Or is it just me over-reacting? *shrugs*
Well, back to school. I think i'm gonna get drowned soon. Kinda siong to haf lessons tat last morning to evening. Praying i could last till this sem ends and pull thru. Shall not break the momentum!!
