Summary: Young Master Donghae's family gets a new head chef, and their new head chef has a son named Hyukjae.
A/N: My apologies for this chapter, which contains nothing attention-grabbing.
“This is the game room,” Donghae describes as he points at a huge door on the third floor. “You can go here if you’re bored and not working, but you’d probably rather spend time with me.”
Donghae smiles cheekily-Hyukjae is beginning to think that the Young Master’s smiles might be his source of confidence around here-and pulls the blushing boy into the room. The young butler’s jaw instantly drops at the sight of all the games and attractions and his eyes begin to bulge for the umpteenth time that day. Donghae chuckles at the childish traits of Hyukjae and gives him a few minutes to play some games, including a round of air hockey with the Young Master himself. The game ends with a victory from Donghae, but Hyukjae had claimed that it was unfair because the other had been smiling at him for the whole time. A blush had followed afterwards, leaving Hyukjae a little embarrassed at his own words before Donghae pulled him out of the game room.
They walk for a little longer before Donghae and Hyukjae both stand in front of a pink curtain. Hyukjae asks why they are standing in front of a covered window and Donghae just laughs before he opens the curtain, revealing a beautiful balcony behind a large window that stretches from wall to wall. Hyukjae gasps at how large the area is and questions why Donghae is showing him this.
“Only Teuk-hyung and I hang out here, but you’re about our age and so I believe we’ll make really good friends, don’t you think, Hyukkie?” the Young Master strikes that wonderful smile again that makes Hyukjae feel all tingly inside. The red head is slightly surprised at the new nickname, but nods his head nonetheless. Donghae opens the window and walks them out onto the balcony, so Hyukjae can study the surroundings. The butler notices a chair that looks quite relaxing, a few flowers to the side, and a butterfly fluttering its wings as it danced from petunia to tulip to rose. This is when Donghae notes that his new butler admires nature a whole lot.
“This place has a gorgeous view of the sky at night,” Donghae mentions, breaking the other from his trance. “Do you like stargazing?”
Hyukjae eagerly nods his head. “Dad used to take me out at night a lot to look at the stars before our family began experiencing some troubles. Now, he’s too busy to do any of that.”
“Oh, really?” Donghae says. “Well then, meet me here tonight, Hyukkie. I’ll introduce you to Teuk-hyung and then we will stargaze together.”
Hyukjae bounces cheerfully, nodding his head again in excitement. Donghae laughs at his actions before they continue the tour around the mansion, stopping by the garden, the pool, and many other locations, learning new facts about each other every minute. Time flies by extremely fast because before they both knew it, dinner had already been served on the table.
When they reach the dining room, Hyukjae disappears into the kitchen without saying goodbye to Donghae, and the Lee family starts to eat the food. The whole time, Mr. and Mrs. Lee discusses more business topics while Donghae compliments the food endlessly, especially the seafood soup. Then dessert arrives and more positive comments leave Donghae’s mouth as his teeth clash into the chocolate cake. The comments are unheard to his parents’ ears; however, they are definitely heard by the father and son in the kitchen. Hyukjae had left the door half a centimeter open after entering the kitchen, just so his father could hear the remarks from the Lee’s.
As Donghae continues to babble to himself about the delicious food, Hyukjae’s father beams delightfully while his son stares at him with glistening eyes, for this is the first time in two years that the boy had seen his dad this happy. Maybe this will go well after all.
That night, Donghae hurries to his promised meeting place with Hyukjae after taking a warm shower. He finds the red head already there and staring up at the sky, oblivious to his arrival. Leeteuk appears behind him a few moments later and they both observe the quiet boy.
“Is that your new favorite butler?” Leeteuk asks quietly, a hint of a fake heartbroken tone in his voice.
Donghae turns around and clicks his tongue. “You know you’re irreplaceable, hyung. I love having you here, and now, I love having Hyukjae here, too.”
“I was just joking, it’s all cool, Hae,” he takes a look at the red head, who still hasn’t noticed their presence.
Donghae finally decides to walk up to Hyukjae, while the elder stays back and waits for his introduction.
“Hey,” the Young Master greets, causing the other to jump in surprise. When he realizes it is only Donghae and not a murderer, Hyukjae smiles and replies.
“Hi, Donghae-ssi.”
“I thought we were the same age,” Donghae chuckles. “Only use the formalities when my parents are around, okay?”
The butler is hesitant, but nods his head obediently anyway. That is when Leeteuk fakes a cough, indicating that he is becoming slightly impatient.
“Oh, I almost forgot!” Donghae exclaims. “Hyukkie, this is Leeteuk-hyung, my personal butler!”
Leeteuk finally steps forward, shaking the red head’s hand as they bow and greet each other. Hyukjae feels a strange feeling in his tummy after realizing that he would never be able to become Donghae’s closest butler. He sighs in frustration as the three begin to look up at the sky.
“What’s wrong?” Donghae asks, concerned.
Hyukjae doesn’t know how to explain the stupid feeling, and decides to lie. “Just admiring the stars.”
They spend an hour outside before Hyukjae begins to get cold. The three of them hurry inside the mansion and Donghae bids the red head good night before trampling off to his own room, a little happier than usual. Leeteuk smiles, never seeing the younger male like this, before walking to his own room as well.
Donghae falls asleep with a big smile plastered on his face that night, but wakes up at three in the morning due to loud knocks on his door. These knocks eventually turn into wild banging when he decides to ignore it, so the Young Master chooses to stand up and stumble to the door. When he opens it, he finds Leeteuk with an extremely worried expression on his face. His bags look extremely noticeable-Donghae has no idea why-and the man looked completely stressed.
“Wh-What’s up, hyung?” Donghae asks tiredly, but he admits he is concerned for his personal butler at the moment.
“My sister’s in the hospital,” Leeteuk explains immediately. “The doctor says it’s from overwork, but she has a weak a body and I’m afraid it might get worse.”
Donghae becomes more awake instantly and hurries to his drawer. He pulls out a card and a handful of money-the Young Master had no idea how much he took-and shoves it all into Leeteuk’s arms.
“Go to the hospital now,” Donghae demands, pushing him out the door. “Use that card to tell my driver what to do.”
Leeteuk nods and thanks the Young Master a million times before scrambling down the stairs as quietly as possible.
