“This is going to be good, guys!” the director exclaimed in a hushed whisper.
He, Hyukjae, and Donghae were all at the theater, sitting in comfortable seats as they prepared to watch the movie premiere. Hyukjae had been waiting for this day ever since they finished filming. Donghae, on the other hand, was hiding his face behind his palms; the other two had dragged him to the movie theater no matter how hard the brunette protested.
The lights finally dimmed down…
~~~
In a far away land, long ago, lived a king and his fair queen. King Kangin and Queen Leeteuk had longed for a child for many years and their wish was finally fulfilled. A handsome son was born and they named him Lee Donghae, after the East Sea. They held a celebration for their child’s birth and citizens of the kingdom were invited. Also attending the celebration was King Kangin’s close friend, King Kyuhyun. The two companions had long wished to unite their kingdoms and now they could, by the marriage of their children. Donghae would be marrying Lee Hyukjae.
The baby, Lee Donghae, was granted the gift of beauty and the gift of song. Before the third gift could be given, however, the evil Kim Heechul appeared; he was angry because he was not invited.
“This handsome son of yours… he will indeed grow up loved by others,” then a smirk came across the wicked man’s face. “But, before the sun sets on his sixteenth birthday, he will prick his finger on a spinning wheel… and die.”
With that, Heechul vanished into thin air. Poor Ryeowook, who still had to give his gift, tried to fix as much as possible.
“Instead of dying on that day, the prince shall go to sleep…” he hesitated before continuing. “He will be awakened by the kiss from his true love.”
“My son’s life is threatened…” King Kangin stood up from his throne. “Destroy all the spinning wheels in this kingdom!”
“Even if you do so, your majesty,” Ryeowook spoke, “Kim Heechul will stop at nothing to get his revenge. I suggest Siwon, Yesung, and I raise your beloved son and bring him back after his sixteenth birthday.”
The king and queen agreed to this plan, but they were left heartbroken. The three came to take Donghae away and departed into the forest at midnight. They raised Prince Donghae for fifteen years-soon to be sixteen-and called him Aiden Rose in order to hide him from Kim Heechul. Aiden was never told his real identity.
“Where is the prince?!” Kim Heechul roared. “Have you guys searched hard enough?!”
“Y-Yes we have, your highness,” a henchman replied as he got down on one knee. “We’ve searched all the cradles in the kingdom!”
Heechul’s right eyebrow began to twitch as he glared at the person below him. “You mean… all of this time… you’ve been searching for a baby?!”
He kicked every single one of his henchmen as a punishment before ordering his raven to search for the prince. Meanwhile, Siwon, Yesung, and Ryeowook were preparing for Aiden’s sixteenth birthday while he was sent outside to pick berries. Ryeowook was baking a cake and the other two were busy creating a royal outfit for the prince.
Aiden Rose was not picking berries at all; he was talking to his animal friends. It was hard to make real human friends out here, where nobody lived after all. Honestly, the boy was tired of living with his so-called “uncles” out in this forest. He told his wild creature buddies that he had dreamed of living in the castle he could see from here. The conversation ended when the boy decided to sing a song, attracting more animals as he did so.
~~~
“This is embarrassing!!!” Donghae squealed, burying his face into his knees.
“I think you’re a wonderful singer… if that makes you feel better,” Hyukjae tried to comfort his boyfriend, gently patting his shoulder.
~~~
Apparently, the prince’s voice was also heard by a passing rider dressed in rich clothing. Immediately, he commanded his horse to search for the voice, but ended up falling into a river. When he hung his cape, hat, and boots to dry, Aiden’s animal friends had come by to steal them and bring them back to him. The boy was amazed at this; he had once told his animal friends once that he was not straight and they accepted him, loving Aiden the exact same way. He told them how he dreamt of falling in love with a prince and coincidentally, they had come to him with the finest clothing. The boy was busy admiring this, until his moment was interrupted when the owner of the clothing approached.
“Excuse me!” the red head called out. “I believe those belong to-”
He paused as he made eye contact with the other. The brunette’s eyes were captivating and the red head was at lost for words. The other felt the same. They had fallen in love.
“M-May I ask for your name?” the handsome boy on the horse asked Aiden, but he did not answer.
Afraid, Aiden ran away from the stranger, not knowing his name either. When back at the cottage, the boy was blinded by love and will only speak about the stranger he had just met. Realizing that the prince was in love, the three uncles had to spill to the truth to the fifteen year old.
“Aiden Rose, you can’t be in love,” Ryeowook started, breaking the young boy from his trance.
“You, son, are Prince Lee Donghae,” Yesung spilled, and the three watched as the brunette’s eyes began to bulge. “You are the child of King Kangin and Queen Leeteuk.”
“And unfortunately, you are to marry Prince Hyukjae, not this stranger from the woods,” Siwon added.
Frustrated and confused, Donghae began to cry and dash off to his room. Meanwhile, the raven had heard all of this and had left to report to Kim Heechul.
Back at the kingdom, the citizens and leaders were preparing for Prince Donghae’s return after sixteen long years. Also, Prince Hyukjae had returned from his trip to the woods, his clothing still moist from the fall at the river.
“You’re a mess, son!” King Kyuhyun exclaimed. “Go clean yourself up and prepare yourself for your partner!”
“I’ve already met him, Father!” Hyukjae answered, getting off his horse.
“H-How?”
“I met this peasant boy in the woods and I have fallen in love,” the red head announced. “I will be marrying her. Farewell!”
With that, the prince hopped back on his horse and galloped back into the forest. However, Siwon, Yesung, and Ryeowook were already on their way escorting the prince to the castle secretly. They brought him to a bedroom and waited for sunset, watching over him and making sure no spinning wheels are nearby. The three gave Prince Donghae one last gift-his crown. As they placed it on his head, the brunette began to cry.
“I know it’s hard, Prince Donghae,” Ryeowook attempted to comfort the crying boy.
“I think he deserves some time alone,” Siwon suggested and they decided to agree, leaving Donghae in the room by himself just for a few minutes.
It was a horrible idea though, because the moment they left, a glowing sphere had appeared in front of Donghae. Mesmerized by the light, the prince followed the glow through a secret passage. That is when the three standing outside the door hear the cackle of Kim Heechul’s laughter. They knew the prince was in trouble and searched throughtout the castle for him immediately.
Kim Heechul had led Donghae to the highest tower in the castle. There, the glowing sphere transformed into a spinning wheel. Unconsciously, the prince reached out for the spindle.
“Stop, Prince Donghae!” Yesung shouted. “It’s a trap!!”
But the spell was too strong. Donghae touched the sharp point and collapsed to the floor. Smirking, Kim Heechul disappeared.
Meanwhile, everyone is excited for the prince’s arrival. However, King Kyuhyun still had to tell King Kangin what had happened with Prince Hyukjae and how he ran off. Knowing they would all be upset to hear the news, Siwon, Yesung, and Ryeowook decide to cast a spell over the whole castle and put everyone to sleep until the problem is resolved. While all this is happening, Donghae is asleep in the bedroom up in the highest tower where the three had placed him. As they are busy putting everyone to sleep, Ryeowook went to the throne room to witness a sleepy King Kyuhyun trying to tell King Kangin about his son. He heard enough to understand that King Kyuhyun’s son had already met Donghae and that he could break the spell.
Prince Hyukjae had already reached the cottage in the woods and knocked on the door. A feminine voice replied and so he opened the door. It was pitch-dark and he was tied and silenced with a handkerchief before dragged to Kim Heechul’s castle. Hyukjae’s hat had fallen off his head, however, and that was just enough evidence for Siwon, Yesung, and Ryeowook to realize what had happened to him. They hurry to Heechul’s castle and sneak inside. Meanwhile, the evil man was busy mocking the red headed prince.
“Did you know, Prince Hyukjae?” Kim Heechul smirked, using his magical powers to reveal a picture of the peasant boy Hyukjae had met. The picture then morphed to a picture of Prince Donghae lying on a bed, asleep. “Did you know they were the same person?”
“W-What?” Hyukjae muttered, not believing what he had just seen. “That’s impossible.”
“Oh, it is possible,” Heechul laughed. “The boy is going to be sleeping forever. You can’t save him!”
Those words frustrated Hyukjae and he tugged at the chains binding his wrists to the wall.
“Don’t hurt yourself, son!” the other began to cackle. “I promise I’ll free you soon!”
The picture of Donghae sleeping suddenly changed to an image of an old Hyukjae riding a weak horse to save the prince.
“You wicked-minded fool!” the red head growled and attempted to attack Heechul, but failed because of his restraints.
Heechul laughed and exited the room to go to bed. The moment he left, Siwon, Yesung, and Ryeowook burst into the room and freed the prince with their powers, breaking every chain on him. Then they armed Hyukjae with the Sword of Truth and the Shield of Virtue and help him break out of the cell. Heechul’s henchmen attempt to stop Prince Hyukjae, but fail because of the three backing him up.
When Kim Heechul found out, the prince had already escaped. Enraged, he casted a forest of thorns around King Kangin’s castle to keep Hyukjae out. However, Hyukjae cut through them with the Sword of Truth. Really mad that his plan failed, Heechul transformed himself into a horrifying dragon, confronting Hyukjae.
The prince was scared out of his mind as the dragon cornered him into a ledge. Not knowing what to do, Hyukjae frantically threw the sword, and Ryeowook, Yesung, and Siwon helped guide it to the dragon’s heart. When it stabbed through the scales, Kim Heechul shrieked and fell to the ground defeated. The forest of thorns magically dissolved. Siwon, Ryeowook, and Yesung led Prince Hyukjae through the snoozing castle to the highest tower where he found Donghae sleeping soundly on a comfortable bed. The three left him alone in the room and he approached Donghae.
~~~
“Eep!” Donghae squealed once again, about to stand up and run away from the movie theater. However, he is tugged back by Hyukjae.
“Hold on! You’re going to miss my favorite part!”
~~~
The red head bended down and carefully observed Prince Donghae’s features, confirming that it was indeed the peasant boy. He then closed down on the brunette’s lips, attaching them with his own in a sweet loving kiss. Donghae woke up to see the love of his life and smiled brightly.
Delighted, the three waiting outside escort them to the throne room where everyone had woken up. Trumpets and other horns blew as the couple descended down the stairs. They walked over to the kings and bowed. King Kyuhyun was about to lecture his son a bit and Donghae was busy hugging his parents, but they were both interrupted when a song began to play.
Prince Hyukjae ditched his father instantly and reached out for Prince Donghae’s hand and pulled him to the dance floor. The brunette was shy and Hyukjae admired that trait as they swiftly danced around the room.
And they all lived happily ever after.
~~~
The director was the first to stand up and applaud, followed by the rest of the audience. On the other hand, Donghae was still in his seat with his face hidden by his hands. Hyukjae noticed this and removed them. “You have to see the bloopers, Hae. They’re about to be shown!”
~~~
The brunette reached out to touch the spindle gently, but pressed down too hard.
“OH MY GOD, THAT HURT!” Donghae jumped as the sudden pain jolted down his finger. “OUCH! STOP RECORDING ME. OH MY GOD, I’M BLEEDING.”
-
Hyukjae slowly knelt down to the floor and bent over to kiss Donghae’s lips. Their faces were just inches apart…
“I can’t do this!” the brunette sat up from his position, instantly bonking his head with Hyukjae’s, knocking the red head out. “Ouch, are you okay?!”
-
The movie was ending and they were dancing on the floor with an extremely shy Donghae and smiling Hyukjae until...
“AHH~!” Donghae screamed as he tripped over his own foot and landed on the floor with a loud thud.
~~~
The viewers were now exploding with laughter and dying in their chairs. Donghae was left in his seat wondering…
“Why were the bloopers all on me?”

A/N: I took out a few scenes that I thought were too awkward for two guys... like dancing in a forest to "Once Upon a Dream." XD Not edited thoroughly, guys. I finished this at 2AM and had to go to bed!
