Summary: Donghae wins a chance to see his idol, Lee Hyukjae AKA the best actor of our generation, in person during the filming for a new movie.  What happens when the actress playing the main female role quits and is replaced by Donghae himself?

Donghae immediately fled to his dressing room after the last filming session that day, leaving everyone else on set wondering why he left so early.  After the brunette shut the door with a bang, he changed into his casual clothes, consisting of a hoodie, jeans, and a pair of comfortable shoes.  The director was questioning him as he was running down the hall earlier, asking why he was in such a rush.  Donghae giggled as he replied,

“Hyukjae invited me to dinner!”

The director shifted his view to Hyukjae and sent him a confused look.  Hyukjae shrugged his shoulders.  “I wanted to congratulate him for doing a good job and talk about the script.”

Sure the brunette had had a meal with Hyukjae with him before, but it was awkward before, because first, Donghae was the only one eating, and second, because the red head was staring at him the whole time.  However, the brunette knew it was different this time.  It’s not every day that the most awesome-looking guy on earth would invite you to dinner at a restaurant, now is it?  Donghae was jumping in glee as he heard a knock on the door.  He hooked his glasses around the collar of his hoodie and opened the door, almost fainting as he saw the other male.  Never had he seen Hyukjae, a famous star, dress in something so casual.  All of the posters in his room had Hyukjae wearing the expensive fashion styles, not a random t-shirt, jacket, and jeans.

Donghae still thought he looked amazing either way.

Sensing that the brunette was about to faint, Hyukjae frowned and showed the other his pinky finger.  “Promise me that you’re not going to faint anymore?”

Donghae raised an eyebrow at the red head, wondering why he wanted to make such a silly promise.  Nonetheless, he nodded his head and hooked his own pinky with Hyukjae’s.  The older male flashed a gummy smile and led Donghae away from the filming location and to his car.  Once inside, he waited for the brunette to get comfortable before driving off.

They reached the restaurant a few minutes later and Donghae’s jaw dropped as they stepped inside.  The tables were covered with silky white tablecloths and topped with beautiful candles; everything looked so elegant.  As the waiter, who did not recognize Hyukjae at all, led them towards a table for two, Donghae followed along with a blank expression.  They sat down after receiving the menus and Hyukjae eyed him suspiciously.

“Is something wrong?” the red head asked, but Donghae just kept his thoughts to himself and replied with a smile.  Hyukjae decided to let it go.  “Tell me what you like on the menu and I’ll get it for you.”

The younger nodded and scanned through the menu, eyes eventually bulging.  Most of the meals were twenty to thirty bucks, which was pretty costly according to Donghae’s perspective.  He looked nervously at Hyukjae and set the menu down.

“The meals are so expensive…” the brunette muttered, sliding the menu to the center of the table.

“Don’t worry about it,” Hyukjae smiled, returning the menu to the other, who hesitantly took it back.

Donghae tried to pick the cheapest item he could find, but it was impossible, since nothing was cheap at all.  When Hyukjae caught sight of the brunette biting his bottom lip and thinking hard, he sighed.  “Should I pick for you?”  The other nodded happily and gave him the menu before sitting back in his chair.  The waiter came back after a few moments and took the orders.

When the table was cleaned after the meal, Hyukjae quickly wiped his mouth before grinning again.  “Congratulations on today, Donghae.  You did great.”

The latter just sat there blushing and nodded his head, as some sort of thank you since he was unable to produce a proper one.  The red head liked how the brunette was always so nervous around him.  He thought Donghae’s clumsiness was enjoyable to watch.

“Did you want dessert?” Hyukjae asked, pointing at the gigantic menu on the wall.

Donghae squinted as he attempted to read through it, but it didn’t seem possible without his glasses.  However, the brunette didn’t want to put them on, afraid of what Hyukjae might think.  The red head caught him fondling with his glasses and chuckled.  “You can put them on; I don’t mind.”

He eventually had to order a tiramisu for the younger, but was completely okay with it.  After the brunette finished the small cake, he cleaned his lips with a napkin and looked towards Hyukjae, not knowing what to say besides thank you.

“No problem,” Hyukjae grinned.  Before he could go on, Hyukjae remembered about the script.  I was supposed to talk to him about it.  Then he realized that the script was still in the car and excused himself to go retrieve it.  Hyukjae exited the restaurant and left Donghae sitting there, watching him through the window.

After Hyukjae left, a storm of girls stormed towards their table and began questioning the brunette uncontrollably.  He received a few glares from a few of them and shifted nervously in his seat.

“Who are you?”

“Why are you with Hyukkie-oppa?”

“Are you dating him?”

“Does he like you?”

“Spit it out!”

Donghae’s eyes went wide open since he didn’t know what to do.  He shook his head frantically from left to right.  “N-No!  You guys are misunderstanding!  He’s… a friend!”

“A friend, huh?” one smirked, twirling her hair with a finger.  “Well don’t get in any kind of closer relationship with him!”

They walked off and Donghae was left bewildered.  What was that all about?  Hyukjae came back with the script and set it on the table.  He flipped through the pages and placed his index finger at a certain line.

“Right here, you’re supposed to jump off this cliff to run away from that gang,” the actor explained.  “You’ll have strings attached to you, so I hope that’s okay.”

He nodded lightly before glancing at the group of fan girls, who were watching them like hawks.  Donghae cocked his head back towards the script and found out that they were on a new page.  Hyukjae continued to explain the dangerous acts he had to do, guaranteeing that they were all safe while Donghae kept nodding his head.  It all ended after the last page, but Donghae could’ve sworn that the red head had skipped something.  During one of the page flips, the brunette remembered seeing two pages turning instead of one, but he assumed it wasn’t important.

They left the restaurant with Hyukjae paying for everything, ignoring Donghae’s protests.

“At least let me leave the tip!” the younger whined as he was dragged out of his seat.

Hyukjae left a twenty dollar bill on the table.  “Too bad, I already did.”

The following days of recording went smoothly after that, and Donghae had brushed his fear of the fan girls off his shoulders.  They’re just trying to scare me because they’re jealous.  He laughed when he remembered the reason behind why he didn’t want the actor to like him back.  Because of the fangirls!  However, all of these thoughts were flushed down the toilet when the director nearly broke the doors as he walked into the filming location.  He looked furious as he stomped over to Donghae and Hyukjae, who were already shivering.

“YOU TWO!” he shouted as he literally shoved a magazine into Hyukjae’s face.

The red head yelped in shock and Donghae instantly removed the magazine, allowing both of them to see the front cover.  Both pairs of eyes were wide open afterwards and the director reacted by crossing his arms and tapping his foot.  There on the front page was a photo taken of them at the restaurant with the title, “Famous Star Dates Mystery Nerd”.  The director was close to exploding now and Hyukjae and Donghae only gasped.

“Since when was I a nerd?” Donghae questioned into thin air.

“Since when did my fans start invading my privacy?” Hyukjae followed after.

“You two just leaked yourselves out into the public!” the director screamed in frustration.

Rumors were spread as rapidly as a wildfire within the next few days and Donghae could not believe some of them.  It got even worse when Hyukjae proceeded into his dressing room one day, showing him the script once more.

“It’s the page I skipped last week,” Hyukjae said as the brunette began to scan through the words.  “I didn’t want to show you yet, because I was scared you would feel uncomfortable with it.”

Confused, Donghae asked the red head why.

“There’s going to be a kiss scene.”
