CHAPTER 8
“Hey Hyuk!” Donghae answered the phone with a chirpy tone.
“Uh, hi Hae…” the voice in the other line was low. Donghae could hear odd sounds in the background.
“Is something wrong?” He frowned as the question slipped out from his tongue.
“Oh? No! no, well, I mean… yes?”
“Are you okay? Where are you?” Donghae asked worried.
“Yes yes, everything’s okay. I’m in the garage picking up my car, but it’s still not fixed. So I don’t think I’ll make it to you later.”
“I can wait for you if you want...”
“No, they said my car should be done in an hour but I really doubt it, so I’ll wait here while it’s done, I’m sorry Hae.”
“I see, don’t worry ok? At least we got to see each other earlier.”
“Yeah, thank you for that again. But I’ll definitely be there tomorrow morning, so you better cook me something delicious.”
They both were smiling as they kept talking. Donghae burst into laughs at that.
“Of course.”
“Well I’m going, you’re probably busy now. I just wanted to tell you.”
“It’s okay. I love how your voice sounds on phone anyway.”
“Donghae! You’re being corny, stop it.”
Hyukjae blushed on the phone and was glad the other wasn’t seeing him at the moment.
“Ok. Sorry, so, see you tomorrow?” Donghae laughed again
“Definitely!” Hyukjae smiled and then they remained silent by a moment.
“I will text you later.” Donghae said after a long pause of only breathing being heard.
Hyukjae hummed and then another silence came. They didn’t want to say goodbye, because they didn’t want to hang up.
Then Hyukjae heard in the other line a voice, an annoyed one if he wasn’t wrong, he couldn’t heard what the voice was saying but after a while Donghae laughed and spoke to Hyukjae again.
“Bye?” Instead of sounding like a goodbye it was more like a question, a proof that Donghae still didn’t want to hang up.
Hyukjae smiled at Donghae’s cheerful voice and the laughs in the other line of the phone, he really didn’t know who was with him or what the unknown person in the back was saying, or most likely, ranting about.
“Bye” And after hearing Donghae hum and snicker he pressed the red button on his phone.
With a smile Donghae put his phone inside his pocket once again.
“So what did your little boyfriend say?”
Donghae turned around to the voice’s sound and beamed before scowled.
“Yah! You ruined our moment, hyung!” Donghae whined at Heechul.
Hissing the man gave a frustrated look at Donghae.
“Oh quit it, Donghae! You look like a teenager in love.”
Donghae’s lips pursued in a pout and didn’t say anything back, he just glared.
“Heechul oppa! Stop teasing him!” Sulli emerged from the kitchen but without her white and green cap and apron. She glared at Heechul and crossed her arms against her chest with an angry stare in her eyes.
Heechul stuck out his tongue at her and then went back to his friend sitting beside him.
“Well, so your boyfriend is coming or not?”
Donghae’s lips let out a sigh and then he shook his head.
“He’s still waiting for his car.”
Sulli came between the two and patted with a gentle touch Donghae’s back. She smiled and said, “Don’t be sad oppa, you’ll see him tomorrow.”
Heechul scoffed and then he started laughing out of the blue.
Both Sulli and Donghae gazed at him with a confused and frowned look.
Sensing the curious eyes on him Heechul coughed and tried to stop laughing.
“What’s so funny?” Sulli asked through gritted teeth and glared again at him, her left hand already clutching in a fist.
“He’s not sad” Heechul replied pointing with his finger at Donghae.
Sulli fumed, “Of course he is! He’s an infatuated soul. Of course he’s sad because he couldn’t get to see his boyfriend!”
“Sulli! Stop talking non sense. Why are you so girly?” Heechul sighed frustrated ruffling his long black hair at the side of his neck.
The girl scoffed madly at him, “Look who’s talking!”
Donghae couldn’t help but gaze at the pair with curious and amused eyes while the two continued arguing not anymore about Donghae and his besotted state, but about how Sulli with her long and silky hair, make-up, skirts and high heels was even boyish that him. It was always funny to see the two quarreling, it was as if in those moments they were the only ones. There’s no doubt the two were related.
“Okay okay, I get it; the egg came first than the hen, whatever. Now please Sulli, get out of the middle!”
Heechul sighed giving up in the fight this time. He moved aside Sulli and then looked back at Donghae, who was now smiling like an idiot at his phone screen.
“Now what are you smiling at?” Heechul asked curious with a raised eyebrow.
Donghae lifted his gaze from the phone and looked at his hyung humming.
With curious eyes Sulli leaned down to him and peered at his phone, seeing one of the pictures Donghae and Eunhyuk had taken earlier that day. She grinned widely and started jumping in awe.
“I told you!” She screamed loudly at the top of her lungs.
Heechul flinched at the high pitched sound of his sister and closed his eyes in annoyance.
She harshly snatched the device from Donghae’s hands and shoved it in her brother’s face. Heechul backed up at the action and then snatched the phone from her hand looking with uninterested eyes at the screen.
He closed his eyes tiredly and yawned, then he put back the phone on the counter.
“Anyways, let’s hang out on Friday Night.”
Donghae looked at him and hummed in a thinking motion, but he wasn’t really thinking just hearing.
“I know of a new place near Eastern Park Station. And it’s better than the one we went last Saturday,” he paused to take a look at his manicured hands, “One of my friends told me there was going to be a special show or something like that, not sure, but I guess it’s definitely gonna be fun” he grinned and winked an eye at Donghae “So, what do you say?”
“I don’t know, hyung” Donghae pursued his lips this time really thinking.
“Oh come on! We couldn’t party together last time” Heechul sulked.
Donghae scoffed at the attempt of pout that the other was giving him and then he grinned.
“Last time I was single” Donghae commented as images of Hyukjae and their time at the bar that night flashed in his mind.
Heechul beamed and patted Donghae’s back.
“Right, you do have a boyfriend now. Who could have thought Lee Donghae would get himself a boyfriend.”
There was a muffled laugh and the two boys stared at the giggling girl that was covering her mouth with her hands.
“That’s what he gets for hanging out with you, oppa!” She stuck her tongue out at them before bursting out laughing.
“Sulli!” They yelled in unison at her as she continued giggling until her brother sent her a death glare and she pouted.
“Oppa, can I go with you?” she asked between her pouty lips and advanced forward to her brother, she sat on his thigh and started drawing invisible patterns in his shoulder and chest. But Heechul only glared at her, scoffed and shook his head once.
“Of course you cannot go” he stated.
Sulli whined and stamped her feet.
“Oppa!”
Heechul sighed exasperatedly.
“I said no, you are a child, you can’t go to those kind of places.”
“I am almost NINETEEN, oppa! I’m not a kid!” She pouted and glared at her brother.
“Pffh, you must be doing homework or studying or whatever shit kids your age should be doing.”
“But it’s Friday night, oppa! I want to go, please!”
“No.”
“But who is gonna check on you if you all pass out, huh?”
“And what will you do? You can’t even drive, shut up Sulli.”
“Pleasee...”
Heechul breathed out and then stood up from his seat; he dragged his sister by her wrist and walked towards the door carrying the sulking girl with him. Before he opened the door he looked back at Donghae.
“You can invite over that boyfriend of you on Friday.”
Donghae smiled at him and muttered an okay to him that wasn’t heard by the two siblings that were already out still fighting in the sidewalk. He grinned and when the two disappeared from his sight he began to close the shop.
-
To: Hae
From: Hyuk
I miss you already. Good night :)
Hyukjae.
Donghae smiled at the text in his phone and then he began typing a reply.
To: Hyuk
From: Hae
Incredibly me too. Can’t wait for tomorrow.
Night Hyukkie :*
Donghae.
In the other side of the phone Hyukjae blushed after reading the reply Donghae had sent him. It was the first time Donghae called him like that; it didn’t matter to him that it could be childish; he felt like a teenager whenever he was beside Donghae.
Maybe it was that he didn’t enjoy his teenage as it would be or like the other guys did. Or maybe it was that he never met his first love… until now.
Hyukjae closed his eyes with his phone in a tight hold into his left hand and rolled on the mattress of his bed. He giggled and then went back to see the screen of his phone, “…Hyukkie…” he read the last word out loud, the sound of the pet name sounding oddly strange yet so sweet.
And then Hyukjae felt a sudden urge to hear Donghae call him like that, from his own voice. He wanted badly to call him and he was about to do it when he checked the clock, it was almost midnight and he didn’t want to disturb him at that hour because probably Donghae was going to get up hours before than him.
He sighed, read the message again and then quickly typed a reply.
‘ Night Hae. Love you <3 ’
It was still a little awkward for him to say or think those words if it wasn’t in an excited moment when Hyukjae would lose control of his whole mind. But he was confident and sincere with his words. He just felt like that, saying those words to him.
He didn’t care Donghae never responded with an ‘I love you too’, he understand that, him. And he wasn’t either going to rush him; when Donghae feel like saying it back to him he would feel complete, full and utterly sick in love.
Hyukjae fall asleep seconds after he sent that message.
-
“Mmhm” Hyukjae moaned while he licked Donghae’s jawline, neck and even his clothed chest. “God, it’s so good.” He moaned again, his voice sounding muffled and anxious against Donghae’s chest.
“Hyuk, ugh, stop,” Donghae almost pleaded his voice failing at the wet feeling of Hyukjae’s tongue over his body. He was seated in the table with his hands placed in Hyukjae’s arms.
“Hmm no, there’s still too much here.”
They were to immerse in their own world that failed to hear the tingle sound of the door.
“What the fuck?” Heechul voiced almost shocked. The frown on his face was clearly visible caused by the view before his eyes, Donghae’s back facing him, seated on the table with his legs spread open and the indecent sounds coming from both guys’ throats.
Hyukjae and Donghae jolted at the sound and quickly got up on their feet, Donghae cleared his throat and Hyukjae dumbly wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.
Donghae sighed in relief after seeing it was just Heechul and not an actual customer who found them in such embarrassing situation.
Heechul looked at Hyukjae with narrow eyes and the frown still in his face.
“What the actual fuck, Lee Donghae?” He repeated without looking at the addressed man, his eyes busy scrutinizing the man beside his friend. His lips twitched with discomfort at the sight.
Heechul walked forward to them, his expression still the same, and Hyukjae began to feel nervous by the look the man was giving him.
“So messy” Heechul finally averted his eyes to Donghae.
“What?” Donghae asked, looking first at Heechul and then at Hyukjae who was mimicking his action.
Donghae laughed nervously covering with his right hand his mouth while with the other he wiped Hyukjae’s still grimy face.
“So, I understand he’s your boyfriend, but don’t you think it was so gross to be doing this kind of business here?” Heechul said, his left eye twitching.
“What?” Hyukjae asked, not understanding what Hyukjae man was implying.
He frowned and looked at Donghae and then at himself. Donghae’s upper body -clothed, mind you- was damp, while his hair was now messy and tousled. And the white substance that Donghae just cleaned from his mouth. His lips formed a circle shape and then he started shaking his hands at the man.
He didn’t know the man yet, but he was sure he was Donghae’s friend. So he felt the need to clarify the things.
“It wasn’t like that. I was just cleaning -”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever, I don’t really wanna know” Heechul interrupted him.
“I’m Kim Heechul, and you must be Donghae’s boyfriend…”
Hyukjae blushed at the last sentence and extended his hand out for Heechul.
“Yeah, I’m Hyukjae, nice to meet you.”
Heechul frown got deeper after seeing Hyukjae’s hand, feeling slightly insulted at the supposed to be kind gesture of the latter.
“You really think I’m going to touch that hand? Iugh, gross. Finish your business I’m going to be over there.”
Hyukjae sighed.
“Hyung!! It’s not what you were thinking!” Donghae yelled at his friend who was now in the other side of the counter taking a little cake from there.
“I don’t care” Heechul replied.
“I guess it wasn’t a good idea to wipe you clean the icing from your clothes” Hyukjae muttered looking at the distaff man.
“You goes nuts whenever you are near sweets” Donghae remarked at him.
Hyukjae pouted, “Only if it’s you” and then he got a peck from Donghae.
“I’m going to change my clothes, go and sit beside Heechul hyung” Donghae said.
Hyukjae looked at him with horror on his eyes, “He scares me” he whispered.
“I heard you” Heechul shouted from his place making Hyukjae jump on his place.
“It’s okay, don’t worry” Donghae said and gave him another peck.
“Remember the guy your cousin Kyuhyun was talking about yesterday?”
Hyukjae nodded.
“He is.” Donghae whispered to him, pointing with his finger at the man eating a cake in the counter.
Hyukjae widened his eyes at that, “Really?” He asked in disbelief and brought his hands over his mouth.
Donghae nodded, “I’ll be back.”
As soon as Donghae was inside the kitchen Hyukjae brought his gaze towards Heechul, the man who deflowered his cousin, with long black hair, slim build, and long and thin legs yet thick thighs, sharp features and pinky plump lips. There is no doubt the man is pretty feminine, but still his voice, gaze and actions were very manly and scary.
“Are you done checking me out?” Heechul asked.
“I was not…” Hyukjae mumbled and slowly sat one stool apart from him.
They remained in silence, Heechul eating his vanilla cake and Hyukjae feeling a bit uncomfortable being alone with him, afraid the other would explode and attack him with his long and keen nails, until Donghae came back already dressed in another clean shirt and sat between them.
By the time Donghae was there Heechul had already eaten all the cake in his plate, he put his fork down and faced his friend.
“I can see how you ended up with him.” He said.
Donghae’s brows creased, as well as Hyukjae’s.
“He’s like a girl underneath that suit.”
“What?” Hyukjae asked out loud, louder than he intended to be, and for a second he regretted do it when Heechul glared dangerously at him.
Donghae didn’t say anything, nor Heechul or Hyukjae.
“Did he check me out?” Hyukjae whispered to Donghae.
Donghae grinned and shrugged.
“Did you already tell him about Friday night?” Heechul asked Donghae.
“Oh! Right!” he swirled around facing Hyukjae “Hyuk, do you want to hang out on Friday night?”
Hyukjae stared at him, without saying anything and he bit his lower lip, “I don’t know, I have to work on Saturday and-”
“Oh come on! Don’t be a party pooper!” Heechul mocked, using a tone that oddly made Hyukjae feel more comfortable around him.
Donghae blinked at him, “Please?” he took his hands and brought them to his mouth.
Hyukjae flushed at the act, “I have to ask Kyuhyun -”
“Invite him.” Heechul cut him.
Hyukjae brought his gaze towards him who was casually playing with his phone, he looked at Donghae who was laughing and then he gave him a wink. Hyukjae smiled and nodded.
“Okay.”
Heechul got up and then walked to the door, “I’m going, see you later, Donghae. Hyukjae, see you on Friday.” He said before going out from the shop.
“What the hell was th-”
But once again Hyukjae was interrupted, this time by Donghae kissing him full on the lips, leaving his rant incomplete.
