yesterday's wedding was uber cool. they had not one, but TWO bands play - Lions of Batucada and Vagabond Opera. we worked our tails off as always, and they were so very, very appreciative. it's nice to get that verbal approval.
our shining moment yesterday was earned by steve: linda and bret brought their own DJ-type setup and CD-Rs to play between band sets. and. drum roll, please... it didn't work. :/ first, the speakers wouldn't work, then the power kept failing, and then it would play some CDs, but not others. well, as it turns out, they didn't check to make sure their CD changer would play CD-Rs. and, of course, it wouldn't. steve, being the techie guru that he is, figured out all the problems, hooked everything up correctly, found a replacement CD changer (lord knows how), and got it set up right in the nick of time. woo, steve!
