"We're sorry." -Liberal Christians
I was walking through the middle of campus the other day when some people with a large paperboard sign hailed me. I approached with trepidation, because people with big signs are often rabidly promoting some cause. The girl who had waved at me explained that they were with Christian Varsity Fellowship (at which point I readied a "sorry-I'm-an-atheist-buhbye!") and that they were apologizing on behalf of liberal Christians everywhere for all the stupid things that conservative Christians have done over the ages. I took a look and the sign read, in big print, "We're Sorry!" and had a bunch of things written around the outside like "the crusades" and "anti-feminism" and "intelligent design." I was genuinely impressed, added my mark to the sign to show my support, and earnestly thanked them for doing something so cool.
