Summertime blues

So who reads this, anyway? I don't know. Ha, oh well. Screw it.

For one thing, I know my dad doesn't read it, and I like things that way. This is why no updates for awhile: I had to escape to another computer (like this one which is in a computer lab on campus).

Since I last updated, a great many things have occurred. I shall incompletely summarize.

Moving out was surprisingly efficient and almost painless, though I was rather lacking for sleep and experimented with narcolepsy at work on that Saturday afternoon. Lunch was good that day. Sunday was more working and going to Minnesota for a while.

In MN I sat around an awful lot and did things like read Gilead in a day (it was excellent, by the way - highly suggested). I also read a nerdy linguistics-type book and talked on my cell phone a lot. Ten books were purchased as well as two new pairs of shoes, thanks to a mother bent on spoiling me to death. Saw my friend Ryan with whom I no longer have so much in common, I'm sad to say. The trip ended up being fairly successful in the field of laziness.

Back to Ames on friday night, though later than expected due to my dad locking his keys in the trunk of his car. Saturday I tidied up a bit and baked cookies and went over to Gayle's for dinner. Her friend Erin came also and we cooked up some spaghetti and a spinach salad and it was good. Cookies and orange galaxy bars for dessert, and watching movie/hanging out until 2 am.

[Addendum: the weather has been crappy and cold and rainy and most of all windy. The ending of this is much looked forward to.]

Yesterday was sleeping in late and then running errands. Met Gayle at 1 and went to Vitali's birthday party, strangely enough. Rather fun though. Back to her apartment for more sitting around and conversation and making dinner again and I finally left at 1. This sequence of events intrigues me. But anyway, apologies to people with whom I was supposed to do things. You have full license to berate me.

Today I slept in again and went to lunch with the grandparents. Then escaping the house and buying books I don't need and taking care of some stuff until the planned athletic events occur. Hopefully tea this evening. Beyond all that, I'm just kind of living. I like it.
