Live for Love
Amongst the shaded, golden sky
The blue bird was my guide
The only thing in life on my side
I followed my secret instinct
Together we wandered into peaceful, blooming gardens
Into deep rivers and shallow oceans
He led me through tunnels of darkness
Into traps of man-unkind
Through weeping vines-
We felt the sorrow of their lives
He carried me over bridges and then rubbed my feet
Crawling on all fours- we hid from the moonlight
Singing in the wettest rain- we washed away our pain
With best intentions and no sense of direction
We found ourselves cuddled in warmth
Glancing onward from my gaze into the meadows
A wooden cottage lured my eyes
Engraved on a doormat were our names
A church danced in the pillowed clouds
But it was time that had married our hearts and minds
In the end, we were there- both in love
Dying as the sun roasted with our very last marshmallow.
