Aqualad, or simply Garth as he was going by at the time, stood looking over a railing at Jump's waterfront. He had been living near the docks for some time now, and had come to take one last look at the sunset

Silvermane was at the docks picking up supplies. Some of the equipment that she'd ordered for weather surveillance world-wide had to be shipped. In order to get it back to the Dragons' mansion in Jump, she'd asked for everything to be loaded into boxes with a metal cage on the outside of each. With her powers, she could move them all the way back to the mansion, as odd as it would look. It beat the additional and rather high shipping fees she'd have to pay just to have them hauled from the docks to the mansion.
Everything was in order, so she turned her attention to the sunset...and she saw a silhouette that looked familiar. Moving closer, she finally came up beside Aqualad, who seemed lost in his thoughts.
"A-aqualad?" she asked quietly. "Um...I'm n-not interrupting anything, am I?"
"I-it's pretty, isn't it?" she remarked. "Me...I'm h-here because there's a very important shipment I have to pick up. T-they're just unloading it from the boat over there."
The best way to try to make him comfortable was to do her best to talk to him normally. If he wanted to talk about the situation with Slizzath, he'd bring it up in his own way.
Silvermane smiled a bit at that. "I-it might sound crazy...b-but I decided to restart the Dragons. Not for the immortality - I know t-that was wrong, but um...well...I c-can't help but think Aristotle was at least right about the world guardians thing."
Well, if Aqualad wanted to open up a bit, Silvermane was probably a good person to talk to about it. After all, she'd forgiven Gust and welcomed her back with open arms.
"I...I want the new team of Dragons t-to protect people from natural disasters and accidents and things like t-that more so. T-the Titans are doing a good job keeping the crime rate low, but p-people still die or get seriously hurt from things where there's no attacker."
"Well...t-that actually brings me to my next question," Silvermane began. "All of the original Dragons are invited to join - either p-part time, or full t-time."
She gave him a rather pointed look after mentioning the invitation, waiting to see how he'd respond to it. There was no way that he could miss that all of the Dragons meant that there was an invitation for him there.
Silvermane just smiled at that. She'd been told on several occasions that she was too forgiving, but in this case, she didn't think it was undeserving.
"Gust...s-she's already a member. E-everybody makes mistakes, and Slizzath was...well...v-very manipulative."
She admired the sunset again, but continued to speak to Aqualad.
"I r-really believe that people c-can make up for awful mistakes, with sincerity and action. That's...that's why I d-decided to start up the Dragons again. I knew s-something was wrong, and I was too afraid to protest. I-I want to be braver, a-and to help people as a Dragon."
A desire to find oneself and to a little soul searching was something Silvermane could definitely understand. After all, she'd spent some time with her Grampa John without really telling anyone where she'd gone until after she returned.
She smiled pleasantly at that. "W-we'll be based at the mansion in Jump, so you'll know where to find us when you w-want to."
Offering her hand to shake as a sign of friendship, she added, "S-safe travels, Aqualad."
Silvermane nodded. She could only guess it was something to do with Slizzath, given that both Aqualad and Gust had been manipulated by the evil man for his own ends.
"Tell her... tell her that she shouldn't let what happen define her. That she can come back from this, and learn from it. After all, we don't learn how to walk ashore unless we stumble and fall a few times..."

"Ah, uhm, Silvermane," he said. "No, I'm just... watching the sun go down."

He took a deep breath, trying to ease up. He was suddenly very curious about why she was willing to talk to him.

"That... sounds like an excellent idea, Silvermane. Seriously... I can already think of situations where you'd be useful..."

Then he took several steps back, rubbing the back of his head. His cheeks turned red, and he took a few quick breaths.
"You'd... you'd trust me? After what I did?"

The metal elemental smiled a bit. "I...I think the new Dragons w-will be as good for the members as it will be for the public, i-if that makes sense."

He looked back at the horizon, and suddenly realized.
"Ah... I need to be going Silvermane. It was nice talking to you."
Then, with a wave, he hurried off.
