After their meeting in the Nexus, Aqualad had brought Brook to a semi-secluded spot by the waterfront; not at the shipyards, but rather, an observation point where one could get a look at the vastness of the bay without the Titans Tower taking up most of the view

"Yeah. New beginnings, as they say," he said. "Really, though, there's a different place I'd like to go back to, that isn't the old tower." And with that, he looks out at the sea wistfully, instinctually taking hold of her hand...

... Which causes him to let go of it suddenly, and look down, laughing nervously. "Heh heh, sorry..."

"Heh, no. It's... er, it's fine. You didn't have to, uh, move away or anything." Whoops. She blushes after saying that. Well, she means it, of course. And curiosity gets the best of her and she forgets that nervous feeling. "So, what kind of different place are you talking about?"

He looks back at the water, rubbing the side of his arm as he blushes as well. "Atlantis," he replied sadly. "I don't know. I've been away a long time, and I can't go back, but... it always seemed more like home than anywhere else."

[speaknofeelings]

"Oh...I can kind of understand that." More than he would think, really. "I mean. I know how that must feel. To want to return somewhere but you know you can't go back. It kind of makes you feel a little lonely without even trying to feel that way, huh?"

He smiled. "Well, I'm not sure anyone tries to be lonely," he said with a sigh. "But... you do have a point. It's... nice to know someone understands, Brooke..."

[speaknofeelings]

She nodded. "It is. I mean, i have a lot of people that I can talk to about certain things, but it's better when you're talking to someone who knows what you've been through. Or... an idea of it. Or... something like that."

Ahaha, whoops. Where was her point again?

He puts his hand on her's again, smiling nervously. "... Either way Brooke, it's a good point just the same. If you ever need someone to rely on, you can... maybe look me up?"

She smiles, and decides to put her other hand on top of his in response. "I'll do that," she says with a smile. "And you know, er, if you run into any problems, you can come and talk to me, too. I'll be around."

Aqualad's smile widens, and looks more confident. He looks out at the sea, at the sunset.
