A little known fact about the sport of curling is that the sheet of ice that it is played upon isn't smooth, but rather a random pebbled surface achieved by applying a spray of water to the sheet prior to the match.
When I left the house this morning I had realized, to a degree of irritation on my part, that it had been raining pretty steadily for some time now. Irritation soon turned to surprise when I found out that the precipitation beating itself on my windshield was not rain, but freezing rain. Luckily this realization happened before I got on the highways so that I had plenty of time to warm up the windshield enough to melt the ice as well as maintain a lower, less skid-likely speed.
Though I serious doubt that I have developed weather control powers within the last twelve hours, the coincidence between this event and yesterday's post remains eerily noticeable.
To the commuters still out there, bonspiels!
