I had a cold last week. While that in itself isn't very entertaining, it did have the side effect of increasing the amount of television I watched over the weekend. So, I emerge from my posting torpor to share some thoughts as well as say that I am feeling much better today.

And I have to disagree with you on the Doctor Who front. Tennant continues to annoy me in the same way he did in the beginning: he's only got two speeds. Seriously, if he's not brooding, he's totally manic. I don't need a scenery-chewing Doctor. Eccleston is still my favorite, if only for the way he portrayed the Doctor's loneliness and madness. His was a much subtler Doctor, and a superior one for it.

The bits where Eccleston went over the top bothered me. You can imagine how I feel now that Tennant does it EVERY FREAKIN' WEEK. It's my hope that he'll settle in to his character, and that the directors will stop saying "More, David! Make it bigger! There's still some scenery left unchewed, for God's sake!"
Which, in the end, means that I blame the directors more than the actors. I have a feeling they're just doing what they're told.
