I'm tired of Macy's. I thought I loved it, but after only 4[ish] months of working there-I'm exhausted. Today I was by myself in the morning time, I figred someone would come relieve me so I didn't have to stand in stupid Polo all day. Nope. Gloria came in but she only works express. And there was Arlette but she was alone in shoes. Then my boss asks me if I can go help recover Dockers [hott mess] and I'm all like SURE! But then Arlette goes to lunch so now I have to sell shoes in addition to cleaning Dockers, watching Polo, Tommy, and Nautica [the last two are my haven no one cares about it but me... anyway] but I'm all like "It's cool, no ones here anyway." Sure enough fifty-freakin people decide they want to buy shit. So I'm in the shoe stock room trying to find some stupid Reboks while trying to tell this lady where she can find a pair of flat-front, chino-washed, cuffed, khaki Dockers, size 31-30. I come out, the lady didn't want the shoes after all becuase the box said running and not walking, she specifically wants a walking shoe. Fuck her. Then the other lady looking for the pants, "can't find them," I look down one shelf in front of her and proceed to hand her the EXACT pair -she dumbly didn't see- as my name is paged to return to men's Polo as I have a customer waiting.
I pick up the phone and I'm all "Somer I'll be there in a sec, I have to check this lady out."
"Oh what ever, I'll get it myself!" *click*
I return to my customer as Stephanie from young men's walks up and says, "I'm going to lunch and I called Chris (her boss) and he said to tell you to watch my area because it's right next to Polo."
"I can't- I have- Okay, just have a good lunch."
[update: at this point I am still watching Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, Dockers, shoes, and NOW young men's/urban wear]
Finally I ring this lady out as Gloria comes up to me, "Hey I'm taking dinner, can you keep an eye on Express?"
As if I had a choice, "Okay."
Right then I had Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, shoes, Dockers, young men's/urban wear, INC, and the whole front pad filled with clearance racks to watch.
I wanted to melt down. And then I get customers, "Umm can we get some help!? There's like no one over at any register and I just want a stupid price check on this shirt."
"Sir, there's a price checker at every pad, there's actually one right behind you."
"I already checked it there and it didn't ring up on sale, I want you to manually check it."
*scan* "I'm sorry it's not on sale right now. If it were on sale it would have a red tag..."
"WHAT! I found it on the clearance rack over there!"
"I'm sorry someone must have placed it in the wrong spot."
"Well that's stupid, y'all should check all that stuff so that this doesn't happen again. I'm writing to Macy's to let them know how inconvinient that is!"
"Have an outstanding day sir."
Needless to say, I am exhausted. And I'm tired of the lady's I work with who don't give a damn about anyone but themselves. I want to work at the GAP or something becuase this shit aint cuttin' it. I'm too tired and I don't make enough to have to cover the entire men's department. Okay? Gimme a red badge and an anual salary, I may do it then. If not, leave me the hell alone.
