It sounds brilliant, but there's no guarentee that you'll find a book however.

True, it may take a while for you to find one, but when you join you can get email alerts sent to you whenever someone releases a book and tells the website where they left it - it would go something like "Big Book by John Smith - released in Goblets in Southampton at 3pm". The theory is that if you get the alert, you can go and have a look for the book when you're passing a particular place.
