Third dream this week that I remember where I was conscious of Mom talking to me again.
These past few days have been nothing but a string of bad dreams. I don't know enough about dreams (who does, really?) to say anything about them, but I'm pretty damn sure they're a manifest of what's been keeping me down. This is also the first time (in my memory) where something this imperative has (for lack of better word) haunted me in dreams.
Anyway, it's been a while, hasn't it, Ol' Eljay? At least once a day, I'd glance through my flist (
panksters , I'll do your meme soon and I hope things are looking up and I know this is very late, but I am very, very happy to know you had a birthday and birthdays are something that should never lose significance ever, YOU HEAR ME? I'M HAPPY TO KNOW THAT YOU'RE NOW TWENTY-ONE SO GO DRINK AND BE MERRY).
Same goes for everyone who's birthday has passed that I've neglected to wish you happy birthdays with (which is such a cop-out, I know. But the sentiment is still as genuine as I can make it short of knocking on your door and flinging myself onto you).
Last Wednesday, I went to see these very dashing fellows:
AND
Left side: Owen Pallett (AKA Final Fantasy); right side: John Darnielle (AKA The Mountain Goats)
And they were amazing and yes, Owen's hair is just as fabulous as it is in real life and I would touch him if not for the fact that he is undoubtedly and unerringly gay. And yes, John is very adorable, even without the piglet, and I would touch him if not for the fact that he is undoubtedly and unerringly (I hope) married.
:(
After some stealthy Googling, I found photos of questionable quality of the show I went to at
Antone's. Owen was the opener of The Mountain Goats, but what a hell of an opener he was. Ask
daftwullie ; I was already plotting a most ingenious and well-orchestrated plot to kidnap him in the back and have his children.
EFFING AMAZING. People there were also ridiculously kind. I ended up close to the stage and with a good sideline view of the artists because a group of jovial students ushered me through the crowd so that I could see. My height, you are both a blessing and a curse, but you cannot be the excuse for the unexpected show of generosity those people gave me. o/
