Today

One year ago today my dad passed away. I have taken a personal day to reflect on his memory and to reflect on my life. My dad was the poster child for do what you want, when you want, no matter what anyone thought. I have decided this is the best way to live your life.

Too many people these days are worried about what they look like, who they hang out with, and what they do. They worry about gaining too much weight because of heart disease. Well if you were meant to die early there is no way to prevent it in my opinion. It will happen one way or another. They worry about smoking because it can give you cancer. Well wake up! Everything gives you cancer. If you want to smoke then smoke. If you want to get a tattoo then get one. If you want to have a big mac then eat one. Just be aware of where it might get you one day, but don't let that come in between your happiness of now.

I read on a bathroom wall at a bar, "You don't drink, you don't smoke, you die anyways." This seems like a reasonable philosophy to live by. Don't take it so literally... no I'm not going to start smoking. I don't want to smoke. It won't make me happy. But this quote is merely saying that you should live your life to the fullest and do what makes you happy. No regrets.

Ok... discuss!
